With a surprising playoff run last season, culminating in the AFC Championship game, the New York Jets surprised NFL game odds and bettors by just making the playoffs as a Wild Card team, under the leadership of rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez.
Sanchez, however, wasn’t necessarily the main reason why the Jets were so successful towards the end of the season. Jets corner back Darrelle Revis, better known as ‘Revis Island’, proved to be somewhat of a human Snuggie when covering the finest receiving talents in the game.

With the recent signing of Revis to a contract extension, the Jets have solidified the final piece in a defense that is projected to be one of the NFL’s best this NFL betting season.
On the offensive side of the ball, Sanchez has a year of experience under his belt as a starter and the chemistry between the young quarterback and his talented receiving corps. is only getting stronger.
Braylon Edwards, who caught double-digit touchdowns just a couple of years ago in Cleveland, headlines a group of New York wide receivers that now also includes Santonio Holmes.
Running back Shonn Greene replaces Thomas Jones as the primary tailback and offseason acquisition and former NFL MVP Ladainian Tomlinson will provide short-yardage and specialty work in the backfield.
The Ravens meanwhile, haven’t been shy at all this offseason. Acquiring wide receivers Anquan Boldin and most recently T.J. Houshmandzadeh from Seattle to bolster a set of targets for an improving Joe Flacco.
Running back Ray Rice is coming off his best season as a pro and is projected by NFL game odds to have a breakout season.
The Ravens still possess one of the strongest defensive units in the league, but questions in the secondary could be their Achilles Heal.
Look for Sanchez to have a few big plays downfield and the addition of Tomlinson in goal line situations should help the Jets finish drives in the red zone with six.
NFL Game Odds Prediction: New York Jets -2.5
