NFL Futures Odds Betting – Boost the Bankroll with Value-Packed AFC Playoff Futures Odds

September 7, 2010

Only six teams will reach the playoffs out of the AFC following the conclusion of the 2010 NFL regular season – and NFL gamblers that can correctly select a handful of these teams will almost literally be rolling in dough once the postseason rolls around.

This in-depth betting breakdown on the handful of AFC teams that will either reach the playoffs in 2010  – or have very legitimate chances of doing so will help pro football bettors in their quest to boost the annual NFL betting bankroll with a wise wager on these absolutely value-packed NFL Futures Odds.

With the 2010 NFL regular season just over 72 hours away from getting started, let me begin.

Playoff Bound
Baltimore (-200)
The Ravens wisely added veteran wideout T.J. Houshmandzadeh to improve its aerial attack – and could now be favorites to win the conference title because of it.

New England (-175)
I think the Pats have a huge chip on their collective shoulders and could very well win the AFC East this season.

Indianapolis (-250)
Let’s keep it simple here and just admit that the Colts are going to win the AFC South – for the umpteenth time in the last decade.

San Diego (-700)
The Chargers are clearly the best team in the mediocre AFC West and could have their postseason ticket punched shortly after midseason rolls around.

Cincinnati (+160)
I like the Bengals to either retain their AFC North division title they surprisingly won in 2009 or come in second place in the division to the Ravens by the slimmest of margins.

New York (-175)
The Jets may be Super Bowl title contenders, but they will have to beat out the Pats for first place in the AFC East and I don’t think it’s going to happen as they fall just short but managed to nab one of the two wild card spots available.

On the Bubble
Pittsburgh (-120)
The Steelers have looked very good this preseason, but I think the four games that Ben Roethlisberger is forced to sit out will put them in a big hole in what may be the toughest division in the league now. A 1-3 start is a very real possibility for Pittsburgh and I think they finish third behind Baltimore and Cincinnati.

Houston (+120)
The Texans could very well reach the postseason, but they’ve got a serious uphill battle with only two wild card playoff spots available to five or six legitimate playoff contenders.

Miami (+140)
I’m a lifelong Dolphins fan, but I’ll be the first to admit that the Fins aren’t quite ready for prime time just yet. The fact that Miami plays in the same division as the Jets and Patriots means they’ll narrowly miss the postseason in 2010.

Denver (+300)
The Broncos are another year or two away from really challenging the Chargers for division supremacy and possibly a lot more. They appear to be headed in the right direction under Josh Daniels but it’s going to take some time.

Tennessee (+150)
The Titans aren’t getting mentioned as a playoff contender very much, but I believe they could be one f the surprise teams in the league much like they were in 2008 when they went 13-3 during the regular season. The more likely scenario this time around is that they battle the Texans for one of the available wild card berths.
