Once Giants backup quarterback Jim Sorgi suffered a season-ending shoulder injury during New York’s preseason opener, the backup role was handed over to Rhett Bomar.

Bomar has indubitably shown troubling signs under center, throwing for just a single touchdown in the Giants following two games while completing a mere 50% of his 46 passing attempts.

Moreover, the Giants are showing signs of the same rushing issues they encountered last year, as none of their running backs have been strong enough to claim the starting role.

Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw are clearly having trouble carrying the ball into the end zone as neither has posted more than a single touchdown in their past three games combined this football spread preseason.

In addition, the Giants have problems on defense, as they have conceded an average of over 26 points per game this preseason against the likes of the Jets, Steelers, and Ravens – a few teams not well-known for their offensive prowess.

The Patriots meanwhile, seem to be reviving some of their pre-Tom Brady injury offense this 2010-11 NFL betting spread preseason.

During the Patriots’ last preseason game, Tom Brady and Randy Moss connected on 3 passes for 74 yards and a touchdown. Brady finished the game completing 18 of 22 passing attempts with 273 yards and three touchdowns, while posting a 158.0 quarterback rating.

Rookie tight end Rob Gronkowski caught two touchdown passes from Brady last game and receiver Sam Aiken also gave his team a score when he caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from Brian Hoyer, giving New England the edge in their last preseason football game spread.

Marshall Mention: Rhett Bomar, Eli Manning’s current backup, has never won an NFL game – preseason or regular season.
