NFL Expert Pick: Shootout in Buffalo

September 26, 2009

The amazing touchdown machine called Drew Brees and the six point favorite New Orleans Saints visit the Buffalo Bills at 4:05 PM ET Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The Saints have looked unstoppable on offense so far, they average 46.5 points per game and now they will face the second worst passing defense in the league.

Brees has 669 passing yards and nine touchdowns, completing 75 percent of his passes and leading the NFL with a 132.9 passer rating. He needs one touchdown pass against Buffalo to match the NFL record for the most in the first three games of a season.

“I’m having fun, but it’s only two games,” said Brees.

Buffalo had allowed 664 pass yards in two games and 5 TD. The upside for the Bills is that they have collected three interceptions and two of them have ended up in the end zone.

New Orleans RB Mike Bell won’t play on Sunday after he sprained the MCL in his right knee last week. He has rushed for 229 yards and a touchdown.

The Saints passing defense hasn’t been stellar either; they rank 29 in the league. They allowed 22 points and 463 net yards of offense in Week 2 against the Eagles. In my opinion the receiver duo Owens – Evans will be a headache for the Saints secondary.

We are up to a high scoring matchup. The winner of the game will be determinate not by who can thrown the ball down the field, but by who can stop it.

New Orleans 2-0 (Road: 1-0) 4:05pm ET

Buffalo 1-1 (Home: 1-0) TV: FOX

NFL Betting Picks:

New Orleans Saints -6 -110
Buffalo Bills +6 -110
O/U 51 -110

My pick: The Saints will cover the spread. Way over.
