NFL Divisional Playoff Match Ups & Breakdowns

January 6, 2009

With the completion of this past weekend’s thrilling NFL wild card matchups in the BetOnline Sportsbook, NFL sports betting fanatics everywhere are preparing to get geared up for some bankroll-boosting NFL sports betting with this coming weekend’s four divisional matchups.

Baltimore at Tennessee

The Baltimore Ravens used their prolific defense to lay an emphatic 27-9 road loss on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and will hook up with the Tennessee Titans for the right to move on to the AFC Championship round.

Baltimore is 6-1 ATS in its last 7 games

Baltimore is 6-1 SU in its last 7 games

Tennessee is 2-6 ATS in its last 8 games when playing at home against Baltimore

Tennessee is 1-4 SU in its last 5 games when playing at home against Baltimore

The Titans beat Baltimore 13-10 at home in Week 5 and BetOnline NFL sports betting buffs can bank on this upcoming showdown to be another low-scoring close affair that is likely decided by a field goal.

Arizona at Carolina

The Cardinals made my pick of a Falcons upset turn out all wrong by getting their act together and winning at home 30-24. Still, Kurt Warner and Co. will have their work cut out in trying to beat the Panthers, a team they lost to 27-23 in Week 8, though they covered the spread as a 5-point road underdog in that contest.

The Panthers however, are clearly not the same team that Arizona faced in that contest and will undoubtedly give the upstart Cardinals all they can handle and then some.

Arizona is 7-18 SU in its last 25 games on the road

The total has gone OVER in 14 of Arizona’s last 20 games on the road

Carolina is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games when playing Arizona

Carolina is 8-2-1 ATS in its last 11 games at home

Philadelphia at New York

I told BetOnline NFL sports betting members in the BetOnline Locker Room last week that the Eagles were a lock to win and cover over Minnesota and they were. For their effort, Philadelphia gets to play the defending champs on the road.

While the longtime NFC East foes spilt, with New York coming out on top 36-31 on Nov. 9 and Philadelphia winning 20-14 on Dec. 7

Philadelphia is 11-4 ATS in its last 15 games on the road

The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Philadelphia’s last 6 games on the road

NY Giants are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games when playing Philadelphia

NY Giants are 6-3 SU in their last 9 games when playing Philadelphia

San Diego at Pittsburgh

The Chargers shocked the Colts, winning 23-17 in overtime and are looking pretty darn good if you ask me, heading into their matchup with a banged-up Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Heck, the Chargers took it to the Steelers in their 11-10 road loss back on Nov. 16 back when they were floundering in the worst way. Now that they’re playing very well, anything’s possible for this matchup.

San Diego is 3-8 ATS in its last 11 games when playing Pittsburgh

San Diego is 1-6 SU in its last 7 games when playing Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games

Pittsburgh is 6-1 SU in its last 7 games
