Playoff Bound
Dallas (-200)
The Cowboys haven’t looked very good this preseason, but they’re still clearly the cream of the crop in what suddenly looks like a watered-down NFC East. There’s no way the ‘Boys fail to cash in as -200 favorites.
San Francisco (-175)
Once again, NFL betting enthusiasts have an easy selection on their hands here as I fully expect the Niners to win the NFC West this season. The Arizona Cardinals loss of Hall of Fame-bound quarterback Kurt Warner – and failure to replace him properly, will cost the Cards this season. At -175, the 49ers are a no-brainer’ of a selection against these NFL Futures Odds.

Green Bay (-200)
The Packers will fight it out with the Vikings for division supremacy, but I like Aaron Rodgers and company to win this time around after falling just short last season. Even if they don’t win the NFC North, the Pack will get into the postseason. At -200, I believe the Packers are one of the best bets on the board for this Futures wager.

New Orleans (-250)
I expect the Saints to have their hands full with the Atlanta Falcons trying to chase them down for division supremacy, but clearly, the Saints are still every bit as explosive offensively as they were last season. Don’t expect any complacency to set in with Drew Brees leading New Orleans to its second straight division title.
Minnesota (-200)
I like the Vikings to come in second place in the NFC North and nab on of the two wild card spots available in the conference. Once the postseason begins, I expect Minnesota to be one, tough out as they say.
Atlanta (-120)
The Falcons will score their share of points this season, but everything hinges on how well they play defense in 2010. I have the Falcons nabbing the sixth and final playoff spot in the conference in large part, because every other playoff contender seems to have more pressing issues than the Falcons.
On the Bubble
New York (Ev)
Philadelphia (-110)
Washington (+175)
Arizona (+165)
Analysis: Of these four playoff contenders, the New York Giants have the best odds to reach the postseason – and rightfully so – as Philadelphia and Arizona figure to take a big step backwards from last season – and the Redskins begin phase one of their rebuilding plan under the Shanahan-McNabb era.
