NFL Betting News – Fisher Done In Tennessee…now what?
January 28, 2011
At one point, the Tennessee Titans stood the chance of losing either quarterback Vince Young or head coach Jeff Fisher after a heated feud erupted between the two this past NFL betting season. Owner Bud Adams had to make a choice between the talent, or the only head coach the franchise had ever known.
He probably couldn’t have imagined that he’s lose both Young and Fisher.
Apparently, the partings were mutual. Fisher has coached the team for the past 17 NFL betting seasons, and was the signal caller when the team migrated from Houston to become the Titans of Tennessee in the first place. He was entering the final year of his contract and neither party allegedly wanted to extend things.
What’s Next For Jeff Fisher?
I think it’s more than obvious that after coaching in the NFL for a quarter century that Jeff Fisher needs a break. Granted the duties of a head coach are mind numbing to say the least, and only a certain few are capable of handling the pressure.

As some have suggested already, I don’t think you work as a head coach for 17 years only to go be an assistant. A cushy analyst job, or his own living couch, await Jeff Fisher in the 2011 NFL season.
What’s Next For Vince Young?
The early speculation is that the team would rescind its promise to deal Vince Young, but I’d say there’s a 100-percent chance of him leaving town by the start of the 2011 NFL betting season. The Titans need to wash their hands of Young and the dirty stench of the past two seasons.
What’s Next For The Tennessee Titans?
The next thing to do for Tennessee is to focus on dealing Vince Young and moving up in the 2011 NFL Draft. The Titans currently sit as the 8th pick in the draft, but I have suggested that Buffalo, Cincinnati, Arizona and even the Carolina Panthers would entertain the idea of moving down a few spots in the draft if a trade for Vince Young was presented.
If I were the Titans, I’d be shopping Vince Young and that 8th pick combined to move up in the draft and pick up a few late rounders in the process. Here’s why:
The next head coach is almost walking in to a dream scenario. This team is gnarly defensively, and have just a few holes in the linebacking corps to fix.
The new head coach will walk on to a team that boasts amazing talents like Chris Johnson and Kenny Britt and then all you have to do is find your quarterback. Whether that’s Blaine Gabbert or Cameron Newton through the draft, or another veteran floating out there like Kevin Kolb, remains to be seen.
What I do know for sure is that this isn’t all bad for the Tennessee Titans in the 2011 NFL betting season. If anything, this will have a tremendous impact on the 2011 NFL Draft so keep your eyes glued to the coaching hire that replaces Jeff Fisher in Tennessee.
