There are two props that we are going to key in on at one time in this NFL betting battle, both having to do with the fact that this should be a defensive showdown.

We know that the Steelers and Jets have two of the best defenses in the league, and it is awfully hard to move the ball on either unit. We know that there is a score in the last two minutes of seemingly every single game, but we’re not so sure that will be the case in this one.

With these two defenses going against each other, there is going to be a premium on field position and taking care of the pigskin. Punting isn’t the worst thing in the world, especially for the Jets. It’s really only going to take one well placed boot around the 3:00 mark or so to make it so this is a 50/50 prop, and not only that, maybe a 66/34 prop.

Interestingly enough in New York’s NFL betting affairs since December 6th, there have been three games without a score in the last two minutes of the half, and four with a score. That gives us a huge edge if we can capitalize with that type of success.

The other prop that we are going to analyze here for this NFL betting battle is whether either team will score three straight times. Unlike last week, when it seemed to be awfully fluky that the Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens combined for 55 points, there shouldn’t be nearly this many scores this week. In fact, we’d say that the possibility is there that there aren’t even five scores for the entire game, which makes the probability of either team scoring three times in a row at any point during the game significantly smaller.

Again, we’ll go back and look at these recent New York games. There were rarely even two scores in a row in either of the postseason tussles against the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts, which is a great omen for NFL betting action. Against the Steelers earlier this year, the Jets did make three consecutive scoring plays, but if you think for one moment that the defense is going to be producing a safety for a second straight game at Heinz Field for the third straight score, you’re probably out of your mind.

At best, these have to be 50/50 props that we’re betting, both of which have NFL betting odds that are certainly stacked in our favor.

My NFL Playoff Predictions: No Score in the Last Two Minutes (+190) and No Team Scoring Three Consecutive Times (+125)
