NFL Betting Expert Prediction – NFC East Division

After a disappointing end to last season in Big D, the Dallas Cowboys are back for the 2010-11 NFL betting season sporting an even stronger team, and look ready to handily take over the NFC East division.

Typically known by football bettors as one of the premiere divisions in the NFL, the NFC East looks like they will have a down year this upcoming season and will most likely be sending just one team to the NFL playoffs.
Apart from the Dallas Cowboys, no one in the division made any drastic improvements that would dramatically alter the framework of the division.
The Redskins did sign Donovan McNabb at quarterback, but they haven’t filled in any of the necessary pieces on offense to help the ex-Eagle and all-pro quarterback.
McNabb doesn’t have nearly the weapons at his disposal that he had in Philly and the offensive line is dodgy. Last year’s starter, Jason Campbell, took a beating from opposing defenses, as the Redskins O-line gave up 43 sacks in 2009.
At best, McNabb will help get the Redskins maybe an extra score per game, but that will be far from enough to pull Washington into playoff contention this 2010-11 NFL betting season.
After finishing the 2009 season at 8-8 and missing the playoffs, the New York Giants have a whole slew of issues on the defensive side of the ball.
After starting 5-0 and then dropping 8 of their final 11 contests, the once intimidating Giants D, looked softer than a goose down comforter.
They yielded 40-plus points 5 times in that tumultuous 11 game span and they still don’t have a middle linebacker.
I predict a similar 8-8 or 7-9 outcome from the Giants unless someone can step up in the heart of that defense.
The Philadelphia Eagles, on the other hand, still possess one of the strongest defense units in the NFL.
Known for their high pressure and blitz-happy defensive schemes, the Eagles recorded 44 sacks last year and had 6 defensive and special teams touchdowns.
The obvious question in Philly is will first year starting quarterback Kevin Kolb be able to handle the unrelenting pressure from Eagles’ fans and media to perform and lead the Eagles back to the NFC Championship game.
The only way I see the Eagles making a run at the NFC East division title is if Michael Vick has an epiphany and stops breaking law in favor of playing like he did in Atlanta.
Finally, the 2009-10 NFC East division betting favorite, the Dallas Cowboys (+125), will be led by all-pro quarterback Tony Romo and his high-powered offense that got even stronger in the offseason.
With a full year and offseason training camp to develop chemistry, Romo and Miles Austin are one of the deadliest quarterback – wide receiver combinations in the league.
With the addition of rookie wideout, Dez Bryant, the Cowboys immediately possess a multitude of threats that opposing defenses can only hope to contain.
When you throw a defense into the mix that scored the second most points of any unit in the NFL last season, this team looks like it is ready to make a deep playoff run this upcoming NFL betting season.
