NFL Betting Advise – Packers and Bears From Soldier Field
September 27, 2010
It’s Monday, and that means you only have one more chance to take some NFL Betting Advice and win a few bucks on Week 3 NFL football. It’s a classic rivalry game between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, as it will be the 180th all-time meeting between these two storied franchises, which makes it the most any two teams have faced one another. And you don’t have nearly 100-years of history without some bad blood, and you know this Monday Night is going to be a physical affair.

Not only is this a great historical matchup, but this pits a pair of teams that are 2-0 and are fighting for top spot in the NFC North. If you were to take the NFL Betting Advice of those already having laid down on this game, most people would tell you to take the Packers as 75% of the money is coming in on them so far.
If you were to tell me a month ago that Green Bay would be 2-0 so far this year, I wouldn’t have batted an eye, but if you said the same thing about Chicago, I probably would have called you crazy. Beating the Lions wasn’t anything out of the ordinary, but walking into Dallas and beating the Cowboys was a huge upset in my books.
This is a Bears team that looked downright awful in the preseason, and looked poised for another disappointing year in 2010. But it has been quite the opposite as Mike Martz has come in and rejuvenated this offence that looked highly inept at times last year, as he has Jay Cutler playing well and has also reignited a fire under Matt Forte’s ass.
NFL Betting Lines:
Green Bay – PS -3 (-105)
Chicago – PS +3 (-115)
Total - 46
Jay Cutler is showing Bears fans the type of quarterback they had hoped he would turn into in Chicago as coming into this week’s Monday Night game, he is leading the NFL in passer rating (121.2). He has thrown for 649 yards in two games, including 5 touchdowns and only 1 interception, which may be the biggest stat for Bears fans. Matt Forte has been Cutlers favourite target as he leads the Bears in receptions (12), receiving yards (188) and touchdowns (3) through two games.
The Packers have looked very good in their first two games of the season, as many people are following the NFL Betting Advice of the experts and have them going all the way to the Super Bowl. In Week 1 they got past the Eagles 27-20, and then destroyed the Buffalo Bills by a 34-7 final in Week 2. The game against Philly was a solid test, but it appears that the Bears may be their toughest game to date considering the way they’ve been playing.
The way they’re going to succeed on Monday night is with the continued dominance of their defence. Clay Matthews has been an absolute beast so far this year, posting an NFL-best six sacks through the first two weeks on a team that has an NFL-high-tying 10 sacks on the year. If they’re able to get to Jay Cutler, that’s when he’s historically made throwing mistakes and turned the ball over.
Offensively, Green Bay has looked solid. Aaron Rogers hasn’t been the fantasy beast that everyone was expecting, as he’s only amassed 443 throwing yards and four TD’s through two games, but he has the ability to explode in any given game.
Although Chicago has a solid defense themselves, my NFL Betting Advice is to stick with the Packers. They’ve proven over the past few season’s that they are the better team. Chicago still has some work to do to prove that they’re the team to beat in the NFC North, and Green Bay is going to make that statement very clear tonight.
NFL Betting Advice: Green Bay (-3) -105
