NFL Betting Advice – Use your Picture in Picture Feature to Watch San Fran Take on Carolina!
October 23, 2010
Two of the more difficult teams in which to give NFL Betting advice on do battle on Sunday afternoon in a game that features two coaches firmly on the Hot Seat.
The 49ers are in search of their second win in a row while the Panthers will be looking for their elusive first win of the 2010 campaign.

If you followed the preseason NFL Betting Advice, this would be an easy game to pick. But the San Francisco 49ers have been brutal, leaving us all to wonder what all the hype was about.
The Niners have been stuck in the mud so far this season and the offense has underachieved in a big way. They are currently ranked 19th overall with 317 yards per game, they have the 15th ranked passing game with 226 yards per game, and the 30th ranked scoring offense, averaging just 15.5 points per game. The most surprising stat however is their running game which currently ranks 28th with a measly 91 yards per game.
Alex Smith and frank Gore have shown signs of life recently however. The two combined for 350 total yards in their last game – their inaugural win of the 2010 season. Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis have woken up and are giving the 49ers reason for some much needed optimism.
Defensively, San Francisco has underachieved as well. Currently they rank 10th in total defense (312 yards per game), 11th is pass defense and 20th in run defense.
The Carolina Panthers would like to forget this season ever happened. Coach John Fox has gone against most Football Betting advice and has reinserted Matt Moore at quarterback after Jimmy Claussen’s ineffectiveness. I’m not sure of the move, but I guess that Moore gives them the best chance to win.
The Panthers rank last in the NFL in almost every offensive category. They are worst in total offense (236 yards per game), worst in passing (136 yards per game), scoring (10.4 points per game) and are 20th in rushing. Matt Moore, in his two starts is responsible for six turnovers and has a miserable 33.3 passer rating! Ouch!
Carolina’s defense could use a little support. They are currently 12 in the league in total defense (316 yards per game) are 5th against the pass (182 yards per game) and a unflattering 26th against the run (134 yards per game).
NFL Betting Advice Outlook:
San Francisco is 1-5 S/U overall 1-9 S/U on the road and is 2-6 S/U in their last eight versus the Carolina Panthers. They are 2-4-1 ATS in their last seven games on the road, 1-10 ATS in their last 11 against Carolina and are 0-5 ATS in their last five games at Carolina.
Carolina is 0-5 S/U this season, is 15-8 S/U in their last 23 games at home and 6-2 S/U in their last eight versus San Francisco. They are 1-4 ATS so far this season and are just 4-8 ATS in their last 12 games at home.
Carolina might be competitive in this game, especially with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart running the ball against San Fran’s 20th ranked run defense. Still, the Niners are the superior team and I like them to win their second straight on Sunday.
NFL Betting Advice Pick: San Francisco 49ers -3
