For Miami, their loss came last Sunday night, when New York came into Sun Life Stadium, and stole a win, 31-28. In that game, Miami moved the ball offensively, but was disappointing on defense, giving up 402 yards of total offense, including 256 yards of passing to Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez.
That’ll have to improve, as Miami gets set to host the Patriots. While this might not be the Patriots juggernaut of a few years ago, they’ve still looked pretty darn impressive so far, leading the NFL with an average of 30 points scored a game.
As usual, the man in charge is the great Tom Brady, who seems to finally be recovered from knee surgery which sidelined him two years ago. Even in a close win last weekend, Brady was phenomenal, throwing for 245 yards, and three touchdowns, giving eight TD passes on the year. That number is second only to Peyton Manning.
On the other sideline, are the Miami Dolphins, and when it comes to the free betting advice, be wary of Miami. They had two nice early season wins, but as we mentioned struggled with New York last weekend.
The key for Miami is trying to figure out what they have in quarterback Chad Henne. Henne. Henne has now been starting full-time for about a year now is still a bit erratic at times, and through three games, has thrown just three touchdowns and is completing just 60 percent of his passes. His struggles are a big reason why Miami is scoring just 17 points a game.
That scoring number is the biggest reason why the Patriots are favored this weekend. It is also why this writer’s free betting advice is clear: Ride the Patriots.
Yes New England Patriots hasn’t looked great so far this year on defense, but the one thing they can do is score points in bunches. Brady is back on track, and his top receivers look phenomenal as well, with Randy Moss and Wes Welker complimented nicely by rookie tight end Aaron Hernandez. Miami will have to score points in bunches to keep up in this game, and with the way they’re playing right now it doesn’t seem likely.
Miami was predicted by many this year to be a sleeper, but in this game they’ll be something else, a loser. The free betting advice is in, and it says to take the Patriots giving a point on the road.
The Pick: New England -1
