The Indianapolis Colts have been NFL Betting money in the bank and their success isn’t lost on the New England Patriots. The Colts have dominated recent meetings after a stretch in which the Pats clearly had their number. The Colts need a win on Sunday to avoid losing a fourth game in a season for what seems like an eternity.
Indianapolis has had more than their share of adversity this season but as an elite squad does, they have moved forward with Jacob Tamme, Mike Hart and Pierre Garcon stepping up to keep the Colts a top notch team. Offense is once again their strong suit – the defense has once again failed to live up to expectation.
The New England Patriots have also dealt with injuries and some adversity this NFL Betting season. Names like Danny Woodhead and BenJarvus Green-Ellis have replaced names like Kevin Faulk and Fred Taylor while Brandon Tate and Aaron Hernandez have taken over for Randy Moss and Ben Watson. The defense has seen a complete overhaul and has taken some time to gel.
Other NFL Betting similarities include the “constants” on each team. Peyton Manning who has 2663 yards, 16 touchdowns and four interceptions is in a dead heat with Tom Brady, who has 2176 yards, 17 touchdowns and four interceptions, for the league’s MVP award while the running games on each team have struggled to impress once again. Indianapolis is the third highest scoring team in the NFL and the Patriots are the highest scoring team in the league.
Although there are many question marks on both teams, there is no denying that each squad is among the elite in the NFL. So who wins in a Battle of the Big Shots?
NFL Betting Outlook:
The Indianapolis Colts have gotten the better of the New England Patriots lately going 4-1 SU in the last five meetings. The Colts are 13-5 SU in their last 18 games on the road but are just 2-4 ATS in their last six on the road. Indianapolis is 7-15 SU in their last 22 games against the Pats and is 6-15-2 ATS in their last 23 versus New England. The Colts are 2-9 SU in their last 11 trips to Gillette Stadium and 2-4-1 in their last seven games in New England.
The New England Patriots are 6-1 SU in their last seven games overall and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six. The Patriots are 13-1 SU in their last 14 games at home and 9-2 SU in their last 11 at home versus the Colts. The Pats are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games versus the Colts but are just 2-4 ATS in their last six against the Colts.
This game is almost too close to call – Bill Belichek’s 8-6 SU record as Patriots coach against Indianapolis is further proof. The stat that stands out is the Patriots record at home. 13-1 in their last 14 overall and 9-2 SU in the last 11 at home versus Indianapolis is too hard to ignore. Make no mistake about it, this will be a close game but I like the Patriots to prevail in the end. Three points doesn’t scare me a bit.
NFL Betting Pick: New England Patriots -3
