The Philadelphia Eagles are suddenly NFL Betting favorites to win the NFC East and perhaps represent the conference in this year’s Super Bowl – they have been that impressive. They are getting it done on offense and on defense while making Coach Andy Reid look like Einstein.

The Eagles renaissance is due to one man – Michael Vick. Love him or hate him, there is no denying that he is presently the most electric man in football. The Eagles have won all three games that he has started since his return from a rib injury and in the seven games that he has played this season; Vick has passed for 1608 yards, 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions. He has also scored five touchdowns on the ground.

Vick is the reason that the Eagles have a top 10 passing game (248.6 yards per game) and he is a big reason that the running game is ranked 3rd (150.8 yards per game). He is that unique player that can beat you with his arm and his feet.

Vick’s supporting cast has been tremendous as well during the middle part of the season. DeSean Jackson is another one of the most explosive players in the game, Jeremy Maclin is as reliable as they come and LeSean McCoy has emerged as one of the most complete backs in the NFL. He leads the team in rushing and receptions.

Philadelphia’s offense is complete and has weapons to spare.

The Eagles defense has been good as well this season. They rank 13th against the pass and 8th against the run. The pass rush and blitz packages are dynamic and unique – just ask Eli Manning!

The Chicago Bears went through quite an NFL Betting slump but have emerged, thanks mostly to their defense. If you listened to the NFL Network commentators last Thursday night, you’d think that Jay Cutler was the second coming of Peyton Manning but I assure you, this team’s success is due to the defense and only the defense.

Jay Cutler has his passing offense ranked 27th (195.4 yards per game). He has thrown for 2064 yards so far this season, has 12 touchdowns and an unflattering 10 interceptions. Cutler, despite missing the better part of two games has already been sacked a whopping 33 times. A combination of poor decision making and a leaky O-line has gotten Cutler nearly killed on numerous occasions. It will be interesting to see how he handles the varied blitz packages of the Eagles on Sunday!

Julius Peppers, Brian Urlacher, Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman have anchored the league’s best scoring defense. This unit has given up an NFL low 14.6 points per game, is 2nd best versus the run (70 yards per game) and is in the top third of pass defenses. They are a solid group that will certainly have their hands full on Sunday!

NFL Betting Outlook:

The Philadelphia Eagles are 5-1 Su in their last six games overall and are 4-1 SU on the road in their last five. Against the Bears, they are 6-2 SU overall and 5-1 SU at Soldier Field. The Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against NFC teams but are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven against teams with winning records.

Chicago is 9-3 SU in their last 12 games and 14-6 SU in their last 20 at home. However, the Beats are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games and 2-4 ATS in their last six at home versus the Eagles. However, the Bears are 5-1 ATS in their last six as underdogs.

If you feel like betting against Michael Vick, go ahead. I certainly am not. If the Bears concentrate on limiting his explosiveness rushing the ball, Vick’s pocket presence and immense weapons down field will be the difference. If the Bears focus on Maclin and Jackson, McCoy and Vick will terrorize them on the ground. It is pick your poison time for the Bears and I don’t think that they will be able to slow the most dynamic offense in the game. Philadelphia’s defense should have fun terrorizing Jay Cutler as well.

NFL Betting Pick: Philadelphia Eagles -3
