Tonight’s slugfest at LP Field pits a pair of struggling teams against one another with both the Colts and Titans entering in the midst of multiple game losing streaks.

Indianapolis dropped its third straight last week against the Dallas Cowboys falling 38-35 in overtime as 5.5-point Lucas Oil Stadium favorites. Of the Colts six SU losses this NFL betting season, four have come by three points or less. You really can’t blame Peyton Manning for last week’s defeat. Even though he tossed four interceptions with the last one coming in the extra session that set the Cowboys up for the win, he once again helped his squad rally back from a two score deficit by throwing for 365 yards and a pair of scores.

While the Colts have been at the very least competitive in a majority of their defeats this season, the Titans have been everything but. In fact, it’s gotten downright ugly in Nashville as Tennessee enters tonight’s crucial showdown losers of five in a row both SU and ATS. Last week’s 17-6 NFL betting defeat at the hands of the AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars marked the third straight game in which it failed to find the end zone offensively.

Injuries have plagued both of these teams throughout the season as well. It’s been highly documented how bad the injury bug has ravaged the Colts as they attempt to defend their AFC crown from a year ago. Manning has gotten absolutely zero support from his ground attack with all of his running backs missing significant action this NFL betting season. He’s also had to go to war without his favorite target, Dallas Clark, and solid complimentary wide receiver, Austin Collie.

As for Tennessee, the injury to quarterback Vince Young has really taken away from what the Titans did so great a year ago. His dual threat ability really allowed running back Chris Johnson to have a season for the ages in 2009-10, but the disrespect for his replacements has allowed Titans’ opponents to bottle up the run game and force them to beat defenses through the air; it hasn’t happened.

NFL Insider Tip: The Colts can’t lose four in a row, right? I say hogwash! Indianapolis most definitely can lose four in a row; especially with the rag tag unit it’ll be marching onto the field this evening. Tennessee is as rabid a dog as there is out there!

This could be the night NFL betting fans and fantasy players finally get to cash in with Chris Johnson. While he’s been held in check each of the L/2 weeks against the Texans and Jaguars, the Colts simply don’t have the defense that can stop him let alone get in his way. Indy just served up a whopping 183 yards on the ground to Tashard Choice and Felix Jones. It marked the third straight game in which it allowed over 120 yards rushing. If CJ and the Titans rushing attack can’t get up for this spot, there’s really no hope for this team the rest of the way.

Still, something tells me the Colts find a way to get the job done in this must-have NFL betting battle. That said; it doesn’t mean they’re going to cover. Indy’s a poor 0-4 ATS against the L/4 sub .500 opponents faced and a lackluster 3-8 ATS the L/11 times it played off a SU loss. Everybody and their mother looks to be on Manning and company as the line steams against them, and the books look to make a heaping load of cash to kick off Week 14. Indy wins this NFL betting affair SU, but comes up short with the one-point victory for its backers.
