New Jersey Nets host Philadelphia 76ers – Take the Under

February 23, 2009

The Philadelphia 76ers (27-27 SU, 25-27-2 ATS, 20-31-3 O/U) have dropped three straight games while failing to cover the spread in four consecutive games in the BetOnline Sportsbook.

The New Jersey Nets (24-32 SU, 28-28 ATS, 28-28 O/U) have lost each of their last five games while failing to cover the spread for BetOnline NBA betting enthusiasts.

Tonight, one team will see its losing streak come to an end when the longtime Atlantic division foes meet at the Izod Center.

The 76ers lost to the Miami Heat 97-91 at AmericanAirlines Arena on Saturday, failing to cover the spread as a 3.5-point road underdog while the final score turned out to be a push on the 188-point O/U total.

Veteran point guard Andre Miller scored a game-high 30 points but Philadelphia made just 37.1 percent of its field goal attempts while allowing the Heat to drain 51.4 percent of its field goals.

The Nets were upset by the Washington Wizards on Friday, losing 107-96 as 7-point home favorites at home while the combined 203 points made it OVER the posted O/U total of 201.

All-star point guard Devin Harris scored 26 points and dished out 10 assists in the loss, but the Nets made just 37.9 percent of its collective shots while allowing Washington to make 47.1 percent of its field goal attempts.

Here is a look at the key trends for each team, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks.

NBA Odds

Philadelphia 76ers -2 -110

New Jersey Nets +2 -110

Over 192 -110

Under 192 -110

Analysis: I like the Under first and foremost in this contest NBA online betting enthusiasts as these two teams have combined to go Under tonight’s 192-point O/U total in two straight games and six of the last seven meetings overall.

With both teams playing pretty horrific basketball at the moment, I say take the home team (New Jersey) to win this contest and narrowly cover the spread against a Sixers team that has underachieved nearly all season long.

NBA Free Picks: Under 192 Total Points/Nets -2 Points
