NCAAF Betting Tips – Florida Atlantic -10 is STILL Too Good to be True

September 25, 2010

Have you ever seen a line that looked too easy or NCAAF Betting Tips too good to be true? Well, get ready, because this may seem too good to be true, but it isn’t this time.

The Florida Atlantic Owls opened at minus 7.5 and is currently Owls -10. The kicker is that it is still a great NCAA Football Bet after the line move.

N. Texas Mean Green (0-3) at Florida Atlantic Owls (1-1) – Saturday, Sep. 25, 7:00 ET

Lockhart Stadium (20,450) – Fort Lauderdale, Florida

NCAA Betting Lines:

North Texas Mean Green ( ATS) +10 (ML +300)

Florida Atlantic Owls ( ATS) -10 (ML -370)

Over/Under Game Total 50.5

I can’t help but think what in THE hell were the linesmakers thinking when they opened this college football spread? Wait until you hear this stuff.

The Mean Green had some bad luck at quarterback this year. The starting quarterback was lost for the season with a dislocated hip, and the backup just broke his leg against Army last week. This brings up a unique situation.

Last year’s starting quarterback Riley Dodge will start but be limited on his number of throws due to his injury last year. He needs to get Tommy John surgery. Oh yeah, he’s the son of Coach Todd Dodge.

The Mean Green is 0-3, but they had two games within reach that got away. Combine this with the injuries causing nine starters lost and limited passing means a focused game plan. They’re going to need running back Lance Dunbar (2nd leading rusher in Sun Belt last year) to carry the load and the ball often.

Florida Atlantic is giving up 285 yards a game rushing, so I guess it isn’t 100% out of the question that North Texas could cover the spread and negate one of the best NCAAF Betting Tips you will get. I should say, it wouldn’t be if they didn’t have nine second or third stringers starting due to injury.

North Texas has given up over 200 yards average and now meet running back Alfred Morris who led the Sun Belt in rushing yardage last year.

Florida Atlantic is 6-0 in the history of this matchup including last year’s 44-40 finish. They just had a two-week layoff after losing to Michigan State 17-30. Michigan State is a real team people, and the Owls were not far from winning.

Coach Howard Schnellenberger and FA return to Lockhart stadium their home away from home which is close to the new stadium being built for them to start playing in sometime next year.

When giving or getting NCAAF Betting Tips, I try to stay away from the Football spread that looks too good to be true. If it looks too good to be true it probably is.

In this case, I’m saying as far as NCAAF Betting Tips go – believe this one; Bet Florida Atlantic -10 if it hasn’t gone up again. You will not be sorry.
