NCAAF Betting Line – Syracuse Orangemen vs. Penn State Nittany Lions

Syracuse’s Rookie Quarterback Faces Penn State

Greg Paulus entered his first year as a starter with high hopes, but an opening loss to Minnesota (of all teams) is going to make this season a year of growing pains for the Orangemen. This game is going to haunt the memory of Paulus, as he learns a valuable life lesson: don’t walk in to Penn State with high hopes.

Syracuse finished last season with a 1-8 SU road record, and life isn’t going to get any easier when they face Penn State, which gave up just one touchdown against Akron last week. The Orangemen aren’t an elite football program, and while Paulus may have some potential, we won’t get to see it when they clash with Penn State on the road this weekend.

Syracuse Orangemen (0-1) vs. Penn State Nittany Lions (1-0)

Saturday, September 12 th — Beaver Stadium, University Park — 12:00pm EST

NCAAF Betting Line: Penn State -28 (52.5)

The Nittany Lions defense allowed just 186.0 total yards against last season, and created a turnover. Paulus, who will be fighting for his life out there on Saturday, will make plenty of mistakes against a defense that will expose his rookie flaws very easily.

The story in Penn State, however, is Daryll Clark’s 353 yard, 3 touchdown performance last weekend. It was a career high for Clark, and a record setting first half for the quarterback who is growing in to his own. Padding the BCS hopes of Penn State will be Clark’s decisive decision making and powerful arm. On Saturday, you’ll get to see a quarterback become a leader as he continues to squeeze the potential out of his inexperienced wide receiver corps.

It’s the story of one quarterback learning from his mistakes, and another building on his successes. Just make sure you’re sitting on the right side of the tracks when you lay down some action this Saturday in favor of Penn State.

Furious Free Pick: Penn State -28 (UNDER 52.5)
