NCAAB Odds Sienna @ Pitt
December 17, 2008
While the Siena Saints (5-3 SU, 2-3-1 ATS, 1-5 O/U) have won three straight games in the BetOnline Sportsbook, they are nowhere near as incendiary as the Pittsburgh Panthers (10-0 SU, 3-1-1 ATS, 2-3 O/U) winners of 10 consecutive games.
The Saints are coming off a thrilling 77-60 win over Marist last Tuesday, making their 17-point spread as a favorite a push for BetOnline NCAAB sports betting buffs.
Siena’s pressure defense, which is ranked 18th in the nation with 19.4 turnovers per game, forced Marist into 26 turnovers. Junior forward Alex Franklin capitalized putting up a season-high 22 points as Siena turned a two-point halftime lead into a second-half blowout.
The Panthers kept their perfect record intact in their last outing, beating the MD Baltimore City Retrievers 91-56 on Saturday.
The Panthers drained 14 of 27 three-pointers in the win and have won every single game this season by at least 13 points.
"Usually, we kind of throw it down low, bang it out and grind it out," said Young. "But we couldn’t really get it down low like we wanted to because they were in a zone. That kind of forced us to shoot the 3 a little bit. We got hot, so we kept it going."
Senior forward Sam Young scored a team-high 19 points and Gilbert Brown and Ashton Gibbs each added 13 points.
"We did a very good job of being unselfish throughout the game," Dixon said. "I thought we attacked well and had good ball movement against their zone. We were passing well, which made me real happy."

Siena +17½ Points
Pittsburgh -17½ Points
Analysis: I know Pittsburgh is playing terrific basketball at the moment, but Siena has one of the best defenses in the country and has been in every game this season except for their season opener.
Take the Saints to narrowly cover the spread despite being on the road in this matchup.
