It was only about eight weeks ago, but it feels like NCAAB betting action between the Wolverines and Badgers has gotten a heck of a lot closer than it was back on that early January day.
Wisconsin posted an absolutely dominating second half on both sides of the basketball court to put away Big Blue 66-50 in a brutal clash in Madison, and it really looked at that point, like the hosts would be easy entrants into the NCAA Tournament, while the visitors would be long since forgotten and would be lucky to qualify for the NIT.
Truth be told, at least perception wise, that’s exactly what has happened.
However, Darius Morris only scored eight points that night and was in foul trouble the whole way. He was limited to just 21 minutes on the court. Tim Hardaway Jr., playing in his first Big Ten road game, only converted 3-of-10 shots from the field to score just 10 points.
Now, Michigan is a tremendously different squad. The Wolverines are coming off of a game in which Morris and Hardaway absolutely dominated the NCAAB betting proceedings offensively, and they have suddenly rattled off seven covers and six outright victories in eight games. Few think this is good enough to get it back into the discussions for the NCAA Tournament, but we know that an upset here at Crisler Arena on Wednesday would certainly be good enough to at least get us thinking about a bid into the dance at this point.
The bottom line for Wisconsin is that it just hasn’t been the same team on the road this year as it has been at home. Sure, going into the Kohl Center for NCAAB betting action is devastating for the opposition — just ask the Ohio State Buckeyes how they liked their trip to Madison.
However, away from home, this is a totally different story. Wisconsin is just 1-4 on the Big Ten road to date, and it had better get used to it because three of its final four regular season match-ups come on the road.
Michigan will get its revenge on Wednesday night and score a big time upset that few see coming. There isn’t that much of a class difference here. Back Big Blue in NCAAB betting action and look for them to move to 8-1 ATS their last nine overall.
