NCAAB Betting – Big XII Tournament Preview

March 9, 2011

Interested in making some NCAAB Betting picks this weekend? Then head over to the Big XII where their conference tournament will tip-off with four games Wednesday.

Let’s start with some of the favorites:

Kansas (-200): Rock, chalk Jayhawk was the name of the game in the Big XII, as for the seventh straight year, the Jayhawks have taken home at least a share of the regular season conference title. Is it any surprise they’re the NCAAB Betting favorite here?

To their credit, the Jayhawks are deep and talented, led by the conference’s player of the year, forward Marcus Morris. The junior from Philadelphia led this team with 17 points per game, while also finishing with seven boards a contest. Morris’ brother Markieff led this team with over 8.3 rebounds a game. And on the perimeter, guards Tyrel Reed, Brady Morningstar, Elijah Johnson, Tyshawn Taylor and Josh Selby all play significant minutes and contribute.

For those keeping track, the Jayhawks are 29-2 overall and 9-1 in their last 10.

Kansas State (+250): Next up, we’ve got one of the only two teams to beat Kansas this year, their cross-state rival the Kansas State Wildcats.

That win came back on February 14, and signified a turning point in the Wildcats season, as they’ve gone 6-0 down the stretch, with three wins over ranked teams. Kansas State also has the most feared guard in this conference, senior Jacob Pullen, who is averaging 19.6 points per game. He has scored at least 20 in five of the Wildcats last six games.

Texas (+350): Could Texas get a surprise NCAAB Betting win at the conference tournament? It certainly seems feasible, as the Longhorns are one of the most talented teams in college basketball, and got as high as No. 2 in the country this year.

Texas is led by forward Jordan Hamilton who averages 18 points and seven boards per game, while fellow forward Tristan Thompson adds 13 and seven as well. On the perimeter, freshman Corey Joseph and senior Dogus Balbay split ball-handling duties, combining for over five assists a game.

It is important to note that Texas is just 2-3 straight up their last five games overall.

Texas A&M (+600): After quietly winning six of their last eight games, could the Texas A&M Aggies be the smart NCAAB Betting pick here?

It seems likely, as the Aggies play defense just about as well as anyone in the country, allowing just 60 points per game. On offense, guard Kris Middleton leads the club with 14 points per game, with forward Neil Walkup averaging just under six rebounds per game.

Missouri (+1200): Finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Missouri as a team which could pull an NCAAB Betting surprise in this conference tournament.

While the Tigers have struggled of late (losing three in a row), they’re a club that can score with just about anyone in the country. Missouri averages 81.5 points per game, which puts them at No. 9 in the nation in that category.

When you can put up points like that, you can beat anyone. This is why the Tigers might be the NCAAB Betting pick to make here.

Here are the rest of the NCAAB Betting Odds:

Colorado (+1200)
Baylor (+1500)
Nebraska (+3000)
Oklahoma State (+5000)
Oklahoma (+5500)
Iowa State (+12500)
Texas Tech (+12500)
