NCAAB Betting Action – Baylor at No. 24 Texas

March 2, 2009

The Baylor Bears (17-11 SU, 7-13 ATS, 8-11-1 O/U) and the Texas Longhorns (19-9 SU, 10-15 ATS, 12-13 O/U) will both be gunning for a victory in the BetOnline Sportsbook when they meet at Frank Erwin Center tonight.

Baylor snapped its modest two-game losing streak the last time out, beating Colorado 75-57 on Saturday afternoon, covering the spread in the process as 14.5-point home underdogs while the final score played UNDER the posted O/U total of 138 points.

Senior point guard Curtis Jerrells scored a team-high 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Baylor.

Texas was knocked off 68-59 by a surging Oklahoma State team at Gallagher-Iba Arena Saturday. OSU covered the spread as a 1-point home favorite while the final score played under the 154-point total.

Junior forward Damion James scored a team-high 18 points in a losing effort.

Analysis: The Baylor Bears are in such bad shape, despite winning their last contest, I don’t think there’s any chance they will cover the spread tonight, even against a so-so Texas squad.

With the Longhorns coming off a loss their last time out and likely in a foul mood because of it, I say they trash the Bears and cover the spread as they did in beating Baylor on Jan. 27 as 1.5-point road underdogs that day.

I also like the under in this contest with two offensively-challenged teams going at it.

NCAAB Free Picks: Texas -7½ Points/Under 146½ Total Points
