NCAA Sunday – #11 G’Town, #12 Purdue, #24 VA Tech Basketball Odds Faves

The #11 Georgetown Hoyas take on the tough Marquette Golden Eagles to start off a great Sunday of basketball odds betting in the sportsbook on February 13th.

While the Hoyas battle the Golden Eagles, the #12 Purdue Boilermakers will be trying to secure a road victory over tough Illinois and ACC Virginia Tech takes on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. A preview of each game is below.

Marquette Golden Eagles (15-9) at #11 Georgetown Hoyas (19-5)

Where: Verizon Center, Washington, D.C.

Analysis: Since January 15th, the Georgetown Hoyas have been as impressive as any team in the crowded Big East. The Hoyas are an incredible 7 and 0 and 5 and 2 against the online sports betting spread in the sportsbook since Jan. 15th.

During the streak, Georgetown has beaten Villanova, Rutgers, Seton Hall and Syracuse straight up on the road and St. John’s, Providence and Louisville at home. Marquette is a good team, they’re one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the Big East, but they shouldn’t have much of a chance against a rolling Georgetown squad. G’Town’s D will be the difference on Sunday.

#12 Purdue Boilermakers (19-5) at Illinois Illini (15-8)

Analysis: The Purdue Boilermakers have turned into a road betting pariah. The Boilers are 0 and 5 on the college basketball odds moneyline in their last 5 road games. Purdue can’t even secure a victory on the road right now much less cover versus the odds in the sports book in road games.

Illinois needs to find a way to lose no more than one more game this season. That means they have to take down Purdue on Sunday. Because of the Boilers road issues, I believe Illinois winning on Feb. 13th is a true possibility.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (10-13) at #24 Virginia Tech Hokies (15-7)

Where: Cassell Coliseum, Blacksburg, Virginia

When: 1:00 pm EST

Fair Basketball Odds: Virginia Tech -7 ½

Analysis: Is Virginia Tech really ranked 24th in the nation? Who the hell knows? The problem is that the pollsters don’t come out with their rankings until after Sunday’s games. Who knows where Virginia Tech is ranked right now?

One thing is for sure, Georgia Tech isn’t ranked and won’t be this season. The Yellow Jackets have turned into an awful team. They lost their 4th straight game to Florida State, 63 to 72, on Feb. 10th. Virginia Tech takes on Georgia Tech at home in this contest. They should beat the Yellow Jackets by double-digits on Sunday.
