NCAA Hoops Betting – A Pair Of The Nation’s Best Will Take The Court Saturday
January 29, 2011
With pressure mounting as we close in toward March, there isn’t a single team that can afford an NCAA Hoops Betting letdown going forward.
That is certainly the case with two struggling heavyweights taking the court again Saturday.
No. 10 Syracuse Orange (18-3 SU, 7-12 ATS) at Marquette Golden Eagles (13-8 SU, 9-6 ATS)
Saturday, January 29: 1:00 p.m. ESPNU
Starting in Milwaukee, WI, has any team gone from penthouse to outhouse faster than Syracuse? The Orange were 18-0 just 10 days ago, before three straight losses have left them reeling and looking for answers.
Things don’t appear to be getting any easier as they head to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee to take on Marquette. Don’t let Marquette’s last couple outcomes fool you, this team can play. Despite three losses in their last four games, this squad has skill all over the court, and has already beaten a handful of quality teams this season. The Golden Eagles are led by the inside-outside combo of Jimmy Butler and Darius Johnson-Odoms, who combine to average 32 points a game, with Jae Crowder chipping in 13 points and seven rebounds.
And truthfully, we’ve got to wonder how the Orange will do here. As we continue to look at their resume, the Orange are getting less and less impressive by the game. Other than wins over Big East conference bottom-dwellers St. Johns and Seton Hall, Syracuse doesn’t have any signature road wins. Back on the road and away from the Carrier Dome, we expect them to struggle here.
Don’t let their lofty ranking fool you, Syracuse is a flawed team. With Johnson-Odoms, Butler and Crowder leading the way, we expect the Golden Eagles to pull the mini NCAA Hoops Betting upset. Get your wager in now!
NCAA Hoops Betting Pick: Marquette
Georgia Bulldogs (14-5 SU, 7-8 ATS) at No. 16 Kentucky Wildcats (15-4 SU, 8-6 ATS)
Saturday, January 29: 4:00 p.m. ESPN
In the second half of Saturday’s NCAA Hoops Betting double-header, we present you an SEC showdown of major proportions. With both Georgia and Kentucky trailing Florida in the East standings, who’s going to get the big win here?
History actually seems to point to Georgia, as it was just two weeks ago that the Bulldogs put a hurting on the Wildcats in a 77-70 win in Athens. In that game, Trey Thompkins was the star of the show, as his 25 points led four Georgia starters who scored in double figures.
However that was a different Georgia team, as the Bulldogs have lost three of five since, and this is a different Kentucky team, since John Calipari’s verbal tongue lashing of Terrence Jones two games ago. Since then the Wildcats have played just one game, but what a statement it was, picking apart the South Carolina Gamecocks 67-58 in Columbia last Saturday. Don’t let the final score fool you, as the Wildcats dominated from start to finish, before having to hold on in the end.
Going into this one, the Wildcats haven’t played since last Saturday, and returning to Rupp Arena for the first time in two weeks, Kentucky will enter Saturday’s matchup focused. There aren’t a lot of teams that would have a chance against the Wildcats in this particular game, and Georgia is no exception. Make Kentucky your NCAA Hoops Betting pick here.
