NCAA Football Sportsbook – Tennessee vs. UCLA
September 12, 2009
UCLA Burins vs. Tennessee Volunteers
Game-day: 9/12/2009
Kick-off: 4:00 pm EST
The UCLA Bruins take on the Tennessee Volunteers in a game that could determine the fate of both teams. That was the case last year as the UCLA Burins pulled a shocker in the NCAA football sportsbook when they beat the Tennessee Volunteers in Los Angeles and leaped onto the college football stage.
Then again, UCLA never really capitalized on their defeat of Tennessee and proved to be a team in the rebuilding stage. UCLA should be better in 2009 but so should Tennessee who was awesome a week ago in putting up 63 points against Western Kentucky.
Here are the NCAA football sportsbook odds for this game:
UCLA Bruins +8 ½ -110 +300 O 46 -110
Tennessee Volunteers -8 ½ -110 -370 U 46 -110
Here are a few online wagering trends for this game.
- The UCLA Bruins are 20 and 7 against the spread in their last 27 games as the underdog.
- The UCLA Bruins are 12 and 5 ATS in their last 17 games overall.
- The Tennessee Volunteers are 1 and 4 ATS in their last 5 games versus a team from the Pac-10 Conference.
- The Tennessee Volunteers are 8-3-1 against the spread in their last 12 games versus a team with a winning record.
This was supposed to be a close game between two rebuilding teams, but he fact of the matter is that Tennessee isn’t rebuilding. The Volunteers were highly ranked last year at the beginning of the 2008 season and with 26 juniors and 22 seniors the Volunteers are well suited to be the most surprising team in the SEC this year.
Tennessee has fantastic leadership at the top with Coach Lane Kiffin obviously capable of putting together a college football game plan and his father, defensive coach Monte Kiffin, able to put together a reliable defensive strategy.
The Kiffins have the talent and know-how to dominate the SEC. That know-how will be on display again this Saturday when the Vols absolutely destroy UCLA and cover the spread in the NCAA football sportsbook.
I believe that UCLA will soon become the second best team in the Pac-10, but it won’t happen for a couple of more years. Tennessee, meanwhile, today is the second best team in the SEC after Florida and no doubt will prove it this Saturday.
This is the best bet of the day. Tennessee will cover the -8 ½ spread in the NCAA football sportsbook.
