NCAA Football Odds – SEC Clash

October 15, 2010

NCAA Football betting lines for the Vanderbilt Commodores and Georgia Bulldogs game are in and although Vandy is coming in with the better winning percentage, Georgia is a big favourite against the spread.

The Commodores are 14-point underdogs heading into this SEC clash with the Bulldogs, and come in feeling pretty good about themselves as they have won two of their last three. The problem for them is that Georgia is also fresh off a huge win over a Tennessee team that has looked strong all year. Although Georgia’s record is just 2-4, they showed that they can still play ball.

Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Georgia Bulldogs (Groves Stadium – Winston-Salem, NC)

Saturday, October 9th – 12:20 PM ET

TV: SEC Network

Although their 52-6 win over Eastern Michigan last week was impressive as it was the most points they’ve scored since the 90’s, it was against a team that has dropped 18-straight football games.

The whopping Georgia put on Tennessee, on the other hand, was something to be proud of. The Bulldogs racked up 402 yards of total offence against the Volunteers, and were able to hold them to just 269 yards, which is a recipe for a win no matter how you slice it.

College Football Odds:

Vanderbilt – PS +14 (-110) ML +450

Georgia – PS -14 (-110) ML -600

Total – 48

Takeaways were a major factor for Georgia in that win as they were able to turn the ball over three times. They also kept Tennessee out of the danger zone so to speak as the Volunteers were only in the red zone twice throughout the day.

Vanderbilt was also very impressive on defence, but again, that was against Eastern Michigan. They are going up against a Georgia team that will be coming in feeling pretty good about themselves, especially considering how well A.J. Green played in his return.

The star WR hauled in six passes for 96 yards and one TD, and figures to only work himself into the offence more this week.

Here are some NCAA Football trends for this matchup:

  • Under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
  • Commodores are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Georgia.
  • Road team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
  • Over is 4-0 in Bulldogs last 4 games as a favourite.
  • Over is 4-1-1 in Bulldogs last 6 home games.

The NCAA Football Odds are a little daunting considering how shaky Georgia has been playing this year, but last week was a breakout game for them and they’ll prove it wasn’t a fluke this week with a big win over Vanderbilt.

The home crowd will aid the defence, which will give the offense good field position, and the Bulldogs offence will take care of the rest. Take Georgia in a blowout.

NCAA Football Odds Prediction: Georgia (-14)
