If this was the second game of the year I don’t think there would be so many people jumping all over SMU against the current NCAA Football Odds, as there were handed a 41-13 thrashing in South Carolina. But the Golden Eagles have bounced back in a big way with home wins over Prairie View A&M by a 34-7 count and then a very impressive 31-16 win over a solid Kansas squad.

It’s been the exact opposite start for Louisiana State as they began the season with a 20-6 toppling of Grambling State, but have since dropped two consecutive contests to Texas A&M (48-16) and Navy (37-23). Their loss to Navy was a real waist of a good offensive output for the Bulldogs as they totalled 405 yards of offence, yet couldn’t make plays when they needed them most.
