NCAA Football Line Projection – Kent State Clashes With Bowling Green
October 22, 2010
The Bowling Green Falcons have one win to their name, and are standing as tight home dogs against Kent State because they’ve been amazing against the NCAA football line. This usually wouldn’t be a game worth betting on, but I wouldn’t sell Bowling Green short in this game, especially considering how well they’ve done when hosting the Golden Flashes.
Bowling Green has gone 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games despite the fact that they’ve lost most of them. Those of you dingbats that wager on MAC games have probably kept your eye on the Falcons as they keep clearing the NCAA football line. As home dogs against Kent State, they’re going to have to ensure their passing defense is on point because Kent State is a fierce passing team.
And by “fierce” I mean “all they can do is pass”. Kent State ranks 36th in passing with 251.0 yards, while their rushing game offers just 66.3 yards per game. That might be a good thing as much as a bad thing. Bowling Green’s big weakness is on the ground, where they give up 234.0 yards per game rushing.

Kent State Golden Flashes (2-4) vs. Bowling Green Falcons (1-6)
Saturday, October 23rd — Doyt Perry Stadium — 3:30pm EST
NCAA Football Line: Kent State -2.5 (50.5)
What I don’t like about Kent State is that they’re 1-4 SU in their last 5 games overall and absolutely winless in their last 5 games on the road. Along with that, they’re just 2-8 SU in their last 10 meetings against Bowling Green.
That being said, the Golden Flashes have been able to clear the NCAA football line in at least half of those games with a 5-4-1 ATS record when playing the Falcons.
Let’s face it – the only way you’re going to be interested in this game is if:
a) your son is playing in it
or
b) you bet on it
or
c) both. While you can get queasy about Kent State’s passing game, it’s not as sound on the road and Bowling Green is moderately good at pass defense.
The best bet in this game is to not trust either defense and take the OVER. But if you’re asking for my advice on the NCAA football line, I really like the home dog this week.
