NCAA Basketball Picks USC @ Oregon
January 2, 2009
The Southern California Trojans (9-3 SU, 5-5 ATS, 5-4 O/U) have won four consecutive games in the BetOnline Sportsbook.
The Oregon Ducks (6-6 SU, 4-7 ATS, 5-4 O/U) have won two straight games but have only covered the spread for BetOnline NCAA college basketball betting buffs once in their last four contests.
Tonight, the Pac-10 rivals will each try to pick up a victory tonight when they square off at McArthur Court.
USC is coming off a solid 66-56 win over Oral Roberts on Sunday as freshman forward DeMar DeRozan scored a team-high 18 points and junior forward Taj Gibson added 16 points.
The Trojans shot a blistering 52.9 percent from the field while limiting Oral Roberts to just 39.0 percent shooting from the field and 20 percent from long distance (4-for-20).
Oregon covered the 9-point spread as home favorites in their 86-74 win over Long beach State as sophomore guard LeKendric Longmire scored a team-high 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field and junior forward Joevan Catron added 13 points.
Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my in-depth analysis and NCAAB Free Pick:
The Trojans are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 Friday games.
The Trojans are 14-5 ATS in their last 19 road games following three or more consecutive home games.
The Ducks are 14-4-2 ATS in their last 20 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
The Ducks are 13-4-1 ATS in their last 18 home games vs. a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.
The Under is 4-0 in Trojans last 4 Friday games.
The Over is 5-0 in Ducks last 5 vs. a team with a winning S.U. record.
The Over is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings.
The Trojans are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Oregon.
The Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Oregon.
NCAAB Odds
USC Trojans -2½ -110
Oregon Ducks +2½ -110
Analysis: Despite their 0-1 road record so far this season, I like the USC Trojans to march into Eugene and grab a solid win over the Ducks as they are clearly the deeper, more athletic team in this matchup.
Oregon has already dropped two home contests in six outings and should make it three tonight.
NCAAB Free Picks: USC -2½ Points
