NCAA Basketball Brackets – How to Win Back Your Money
March 26, 2011
Unless you’re some sort of idiot savant, your NCAA basketball brackets probably look like a minefield after it was stormed by a bunch of crystal meth addicts who had broken into a pogo stick factory. The bloody war field of this year’s tournament has left a lot of us battered and bruised, which is why you have to find other ways to win back the money you’ve lost in your bracket pools.
Here are three easy tips to make some money on the remnants of your shattered egos. Let’s start with the easiest: betting on single games, which is what you should be doing in the first place.
Follow the Handicappers
Fortunately for me and my fellow handicappers, a lot of us have had our thumbs on the pulse of this tournament and have been lobbing you solid free picks. You can check out the main page here [https://www.betus.com/sports-betting/march-madness/] and it’s worth a look if you’re lost in the dizzying events that have transpired thus far.
Flying blind in a storm is never fun, and March Madness is clearly no exception. Many times at the pro levels you have a general idea of what’s going on. You know which teams are great, which players are worth banking on and you’re force fed information on every level of play.
That isn’t the case at the college level, which is why a lot of NCAA basketball brackets have been blown to smithereens. Luckily, you have us. We’re paid to watch and read and consume sports for a living, and the fair majority of us make a living by betting on sports. We offer our advice as a side pot to some degree and we always put our money where our mouth is. If you’re looking for an inside track on how to gauge these teams properly, then follow the lead of the handicappers.
Check the NCAAB Basketball Championship Futures
The easiest way to finish off March Madness with a win is to either bet on the national title game, or put in a profit-churning pick on the eventual national title winner. The Ohio State Buckeyes and Kansas Jayhawks both lead the pack with +225 odds to win it all. I love the Buckeyes, and I’m not so high on Kansas but either will give you a very good chance.
If you’re like me, however, you love the long shot and, considering the mess of teams that remain after the two number-one seeds left, the odds get downright attractive. Kemba Walker and UConn are +700, Harrison Barnes and UNC are +1200 and the Butler Underdogs are +1500. Throw $100 (or more) at each and you’ll win a big profit no matter which team wins it all.
A lot of NCAA basketball brackets have been busted to hell thanks to BYU, Butler, VCU and other major dogs coming through. Now’s the chance to get your money back by throwing some fliers at the futures odds.
It’s really all about strategy. Think of these as “long term” investments. One win by an underdog could win you back all the money you spent on other bets, and then some. Find the value and ride the wave.
Enter the $10,000 Elite Eight Bracket Contest
If you deposit $100 at the right time in to your account, you’ll have multiple chances to win up to $10,000 in our Elite Eight Bracket Contest! Not too bad, if you ask me, especially since it’s an added bonus to playing with BetOnline.com. The contest opens Saturday, March 26th at 1 a.m. ET and closes that afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET so you have a tight window to get your picks in.
Customers eligible for the Elite Eight Bracket Contest are those that deposit after March 24th, 12 a.m. ET and before March 26th, 4:30 p.m. ET. Just because your regular NCAA basketball bracket has been ripped to shreds by upsets galore, that doesn’t mean you can’t win big with another one.
