This is one of the most underrated teams in the country. They’re also coming off a thrilling road win at Georgia on Wednesday, when they overcame a 14 point second half deficit in the victory. The Commodores are once again a favorite of NCAA Basketball Betting experts, winning four in a row straight up, and have gone 4-1 against the spread over their last five.

And really, it all starts with guard John Jenkins. While other guards get credit nationally, it is actually Jenkins who may be the most underrated in the country. Jenkins averages an SEC high 19.8 points per game, and has now scored 20 or more in six of his last seven games.

Still, to take Vanderbilt solely because of Jenkins would undermine everything that his teammates bring to the table.

Vanderbilt might not be deep, but they are incredibly skilled, with others besides Jenkins playing key roles. Jeffery Taylor adds 14 points per game from the perimeter, with Festus Ezeli averaging 12 points and six boards down low. Brad Tinsley is the do it all point guard, with 4.5 assists per game.

So what chance does Auburn have in covering the NCAA Basketball Betting odds? Not a very good one from the looks of things.

Poor Tony Barbee probably didn’t know quite what he was signing up for when he took this job last offseason, but simply, Auburn is one of the least talented teams in any major conference.

They rank just 299th nationally in points scored (63 per game) and are literally one of the worst teams in the country shooting the ball. They rank just 319th of all Division I teams in field goal percentage, shooting an awful, awful 39.9 percent from the field. By the way, did we mention they’ve lost eight of 10 straight up?

Ultimately, these are two teams that are basically playing two different sports completely. Vanderbilt is fluid, confident and comfortable with Jenkins, Taylor and its other stars, while Auburn is simply trying to stay afloat in the SEC.

We can’t think of one good reason not to make Vanderbilt your Saturday NCAA Basketball Betting Pick.
