Prudential Center, Newark, New Jersey

NCAA Basketball Betting Odds: Marquette +4.5, North Carolina -4.5, Game Total: 150

The Golden Eagles come into the Sweet Sixteen having with great wins under their belt.  Having defeated No. 6 Xavier and then No. 3 Syracuse, Marquette has silenced its critics.

However, the Golden Eagles will face by far their biggest challenge yet in Newark.  The Tar Heels boast of a formidable frontcourt trio, consisting of Tyler Zeller, John Henson, and Harrison Barnes, all averaging over 10 points per game. NCAA basketball betting experts rate North Carolina as one of the most balanced teams in the nation, made up of both big and athletic players.

The NCAA basketball Sportsbook lists the Tar Heels as the 4.5-point favorites, with the game total set at 150 points. North Carolina has a great advantage in terms of raw talent.  But you never know when even the best can have off-games.

Marquette has been headed by Darius Johnson-Odom, who averaged 16 points each game during the season, but had a great performance against Syracuse, scoring 17 and going 7-15 from the floor in the 66-62 win.

This Sweet Sixteen game pits opposite styles of play together.  While North Carolina relies heavily on its frontcourt to grab boards and score points in the paint, Marquette counts more on its perimeter play and stout defense.

If North Carolina can protect the basketball, as the team is accustomed to doing, they should advance over Marquette into the Elite Eight, covering the 4.5-point spread.
