NBA Western Conference – Spurs, Grizz, Mavs Rock NBA Odds in Sportsbook
February 16, 2011
The San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks continue to rock it in the NBA sportsbook when it comes to basketball spread betting.
As far as the Western Conference is concerned, the Spurs and Grizzlies are money when it comes to covering spreads. The Dallas Mavericks should be considered as a possible team to back ATS on most nights as well.
Let’s get to the Top 5 and Bottom 5 in the Western Conference!

NBA Western Conference Top 5
- San Antonio Spurs 46-9 (34-19-2 ATS) – - The Spurs’ game versus Chicago on Feb. 15th will be their 9th straight game on the road. All they’ve done in the previous 8 was go 6 and 2 on the NBA odds moneyline and 6 and 2 against the spread. San Antonio is awesome.
- Memphis Grizzlies 30-26 (34-21-1 ATS) – - The Grizzlies have actually gone 3 and 3 ATS in their last 6 games. That’s not great, but they’ll have a chance to get better with games versus Denver, Minnesota and Sacramento, three Bottom 5 dwellers, in their next 4 contests.
- Dallas Mavericks 38-16 (29-23-2 ATS) – - The Mavericks are 7 and 3 against the online odds spread in their last 10 games. They take on Sacramento on Feb. 16th and should pad the stats.
- Houston Rockets 26-30 (28-26-2 ATS) – - - Houston is only 2 and 3 ATS in their last 5 games but they do take on Detroit, New Jersey and New Orleans in 3 out of their next 5 games. They should be able to cover in all 3 of those contests.
- Golden State Warriors 24-29 (27-25-1 ATS) – - The Warriors have quickly fallen down the list. They might be off of it by next week if they continue to do what they’re doing. GS is 3 and 7 against the NBA betting spread in their last 10 games.
NBA Western Conference Bottom 5
- Minnesota Timberwolves 13-42 (24-31 ATS) – - 0 and 3 ATS in their last 3. 2 and 6 ATS in their last 8. 3 and 7 against the spread in their last 10. Minnesota is definitely numero uno this week in the Bottom 5 from the Western Conference.
- Denver Nuggets 31-25 (23-30-3 ATS) – - The Nuggets are back to their horrible spread covering ways. Denver is 0 and 3 ATS in their last 3 games and 3 and 7 ATS in their last 10. Only Chauncey seems to be playing hard for Denver at this point in the season.
- Sacramento Kings 13-38 (22-28-1 ATS) – - Sacramento has actually been decent lately against the NBA odds in the sportsbook. The Kings are 7 and 3 ATS in their last 10 games including going 3 and 0 ATS in their last 3. They’ve got 5 straight road games coming up versus OKC, Dallas, Miami, Orlando and Charlotte. Depending on the spread, SAC might be the team to back in all 5 of those contests.
- Utah Jazz 31-24 (24-30-1 ATS) – - Utah just isn’t a very good team. 1 and 3 ATS in their last 4. 2 and 4 ATS in their last 6 and now Jerry Sloan is gone as their head coach. The Jazz take on Phoenix, Golden State and Dallas in their next 3 games. I don’t see things turning around for this group in the online basketball sportsbook.
- L.A. Lakers 38-18 (25-30-1 ATS) – - Is anybody else confused by the Lake Show? They beat New Orleans, Memphis, Boston and New York on the road straight up and against the spread. Then, they lose 2 straight to Orlando and Charlotte on the road. Really, L.A.? Really?
