NBA Weekend Best Bets

December 26, 2008

It’s time for sports betting fans to do some forecasting as the BetOnline online sportsbook betting odds won’t be released on Saturday and Sunday’s NBA games until those days actually arrive.

It’s good practice to always set a personal odds line for NBA games during the weekend since planning out weekend online bets – - with so many sports going on Saturday and Sunday – is the only way to assure that online betting fans are staying under control.

Set rules that work for you. That’s my motto.

Let’s get to it!

Best Online NBA Basketball Bet on Saturday

Toronto Raptors vs. Portland Trailblazers - – The Raptors have a 7-7-1 against the spread record on the road and with Chris Bosh, Jamario Moon, Jose Calderon and Jermaine O’Neal starting to gel, it’s only a matter of time before Toronto goes on a winning streak. Of course, Toronto will go into this Saturday game after having to play Sacramento on Friday night. Still, they look pretty good facing a Portland Trailblazers’ squad that let a victory against the Dallas Mavericks get away from them on Christmas Day. The trends don’t favor either team as the Blazers have gone cold against the spread and the Raptors just aren’t very good as it is against the spread. From an NBA betting point-of-view, this is the best game on Saturday because the BetOnline online betting odds makers have to make Portland a decided favorite. Getting 6 ½ points will be what I’m looking for. If I do, then I love the Raptors in this game.

Pick: Toronto Raptors at + 6 ½ or more in the BetOnline online sportsbook.

Best Online NBA Basketball Bet on Sunday

Miami Heat vs. Cleveland Cavaliers - – How high the BetOnline online sportsbook odds makers set the line in this game is going to be the key as the Cleveland Cavaliers are 22 and 7 against the spread overall but 1 and 2 against the BetOnline online basketball betting spread in their last three games. It appears that the odds makers are finally onto the Cavs who have a 12 and 3 record against the BetOnline online wagering spread at home this season. For Miami the season has been up and down. They have a winning record straight-up at 15 and 12, but their record against the BetOnline online betting spread is only 10-15-2. On the road the Heat is 5-7-1. Dwayne Wade, Udonis Haslem and Shawn Marion make up a nice trio, but Miami doesn’t come close to the starting five of the Cavaliers. This is going to be a tough game for online sportsbook betting fans which means sticking to the personal odds line is going to be crucial. I’m taking a stab on the Heat if I get the requisite amount of points.

Pick: Miami Heat to beat the spread at + 8 ½ or more in the BetOnline online sportsbook.

Good Luck!
