NBA Wagering – Wizards at Bobcats

February 11, 2009

New-Look Bobcats Host Reeling Wizards

The Washington Wizards (11-41 SU, 19-32-1 ATS, 24-26-2 O/U) are coming off a 111-90 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, failing to cover the spread as 9-point road underdogs just as I predicted that day in the BetOnline Locker Room.

The Charlotte Bobcats (20-31 SU, 29-22 ATS, 22-27-2 O/U) spanked the Los Angeles Clippers 94-73 on Monday, cashing in for BetOnline NBA sports betting buffs as 2.5-point home favorites.

The Wizards saw Caron ‘Tough Juice’ Butler record 22 points and eight boards in a losing effort as Washington was outscored in three of the game’s four quarters.

Power forward Emeka Okafor scored 19 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead five Bobcats players in double figure scoring as the Bobcats steamrolled the lowly Clippers

Here is a look at the key trends for each team, followed by my in-depth analysis and NBA Free Picks.

The total has gone OVER in 5 of Washington’s last 6 games when playing on the road against Charlotte

The total has gone OVER in 7 of Washington’s last 10 games when playing Charlotte

Washington is 12-6 SU in its last 18 games when playing Charlotte

Washington is 4-2 ATS in its last 6 games when playing on the road against Charlotte

Charlotte is 7-1 ATS in its last 8 games at home

The total has gone OVER in 5 of Charlotte’s last 6 games when playing at home against Washington

The total has gone OVER in 4 of Charlotte’s last 5 games

Charlotte is 6-2 SU in its last 8 games at home

NBA Odds

Washington Wizards +8 -110

Charlotte Bobcats -8 -110

Over 188 -110

Under 188 -110

Analysis: The Charlotte Bobcat continue to try and improve their roster for Hall of Fame head coach Larry Brown, acquiring sweet-shooting forward Vladimir Radmanovic to add even more veteran help while the Washington Wizards have been going through the motions since the beginning of the season and really have nothing to play for at this point other than the development of some of its young players like Nick Young and JaVale McGee.

Charlotte desperately wants to make the playoff and knows it needs to win every game they can in order to make that happen. I like the Bobcats to cover this spread narrowly.

I also like the defensive-minded Bobcats to keep this game from going Over the game’s posted O/U total.

NBA Free Picks: Charlotte -8 Points/Under 188 Total Points
