Feb. 27th– NBA Games

** Stats and records not counting Friday and Saturday night games.

Dallas Mavericks (41-16) at Toronto Raptors (16-42)

Where: Air Canada Centre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

When: 6:00 pm EST

Fair NBA Odds: Dallas -9 ½

Analysis: The Mavericks should have no problem taking apart the horrible Toronto Raptors. The question is by how many points in the online sports betting basketball odds book will Dallas be favored by on Sunday? I’m hoping that, like Chicago was this past Wednesday night, the Mavs aren’t favored by more than 9 ½ points on February 27th. Even if they are, it’s going to be hard for me to bet against Big D since they’re 5 and 1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Toronto is just terrible. I’ll probably end up backing Dirk and Co. no matter what the odds are.

Houston Rockets (28-31) at New Orleans (34-25)

Where: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana

When: 7:00 pm EST

Fair NBA Odds: New Orleans -4 ½

Analysis: I truly believe that the Hornets are back on track now that Trevor Ariza and Emeka Okafor are healthy. New Orleans had gone 2 and 7 against the online NBA moneyline odds before beating Blake and the Clippers 98 to 87 on Feb. 23rd. The Hornets are easily one of the better teams in the league when they can play great defense and allow point guard Chris Paul to create. Houston could be in some trouble with Shane Battier playing on the frontline or Aaron Brooks spelling Kevin Martin. I’ll go with N.O. to continue to get back to being a viable team in the league.

Memphis Grizzlies (32-27) at San Antonio Spurs (47-10)

Where: AT&T Center, San Antonio, Texas

When: 7:00 pm EST

Fair NBA Odds: San Antonio -7 ½

Analysis: Memphis is going to have issues until Rudy Gay returns to the starting line up from an injury. Even if Shane Battier ends up suiting up for them on Sunday, the Grizz aren’t going to have much of a shot against San Antonio. The Spurs are 0 and 2 ATS in their last 2 games versus Oklahoma City and Chicago, but Memphis should be an easy foe for them after taking on New Jersey on Friday night. San Antonio is just too good of a team to allow Memphis to stick around in this contest and, again, the Grizzlies will find it hard to be competitive versus the best in the NBA with Gay injured. I’m backing the Spurs to cover the spread.
