Feb. 1st– NBA Games
Washington Wizards (13-34) at New Orleans Hornets (31-18)
Where: New Orleans Arena, New Orleans, Louisiana
When: 8:00 pm EST
NBA Betting Odds: Under 189 ½
Analysis: It’s tough for me to back the Hornets at -9 in this game. New Orleans has covered only 1 spread in the NBA betting sports book as a -9 point or higher fave since last December. There are some quality trends that speak to this game going under on Tuesday night. The under is 26 and 12 in the Hornets last 36 games overall.
The under is 33 and 16 in the Wizards last 49 games as an underdog of 5 to 10 ½ points. The Over is 4 and 1 in the Wizards last 5 games, yes, but the 4 opponents the Wizards played in those over games were NYK, Denver, OKC and Memphis. 3 of those teams average much more than New Orleans does each contest. I’m going under.
San Antonio Spurs (40-7) at Portland Trailblazers (25-22)
Where: Rose Garden, Portland, Oregon
When: 10:00 pm EST
NBA Betting Odds: Under 191 ½
Analysis: Here’s another game where the under appears to be the best online NBA bet in the sports book on Tuesday night. Sure, San Antonio is 4 and 1 ATS in their last 4 games on the road, but they’re also 1 and 5 against the spread in the last 6 games versus the Portland Trailblazers.
The ‘Blazers are 33 and 16 ATS in their last 49 games as a home dog, but are 0 and 4 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up loss.
Houston Rockets (22-27) at Los Angeles Lakers (33-15)
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California
When: 10:30 pm EST
NBA Betting Odds: Lakers -9
Analysis: The sports betting trends are conflicting regarding the totals for both of these teams in this contest tonight. Trends favor under in Laker games. Trends favor over in Houston games. What’s a sports bettor to do? Go with your gut, of course!
Houston is 7 and 0 in their last 7 games versus teams from the NBA Pacific Division but the Clippers twice, Portland twice, Golden State and Sacramento twice, doesn’t compare to playing a fired up Lakers squad at the Staples Center. L.A. has lost 2 games in a row and will be desperate to put a lock down on the Houston Rockets in this game with their often times suffering D.
I like the Lakes to cover the spread by either playing awesome D or simply running the Rockets out of the arena.
