Feb. 8th– NBA Games
Philadelphia 76’ers (23-27) at Atlanta Hawks (33-18)
Where: Phillips Arena, Atlanta, Georgia
When: 7:00 pm EST
NBA Odds: Philadelphia +4 ½
Analysis: The Hawks will be looking for their 4th straight victory on the NBA moneyline odds on Tuesday night, but Philly is one of the best teams in the league against the spread. Philadelphia is 16-9-1 ATS in away games this season. They’ve only gone 2 and 3 against the spread in their last 5 games but before that they had covered in 5 straight. Versus Atlanta, the 76’ers are 5 and 2 ATS in the last 7 meetings and are 12 and 3 ATS in their last 15 following a straight up loss. Hoops handicappers should seriously consider taking the points in this Eastern Conference matchup on Feb. 8th.
Los Angeles Clippers (19-31) at Orlando Magic (32-20)
Where: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida
When: 7:00 pm EST
NBA Odds: Orlando -9 ½
Analysis: So far only 48% of basketball handicappers are backing the Magic in the online sports betting book to cover the 9 ½ versus the Clippers. From my perspective, this is one of the easiest games of the night to call. Why? Because the Magic has the much better team outside of Mr. Awesome, Blake Griffin. Griffin’s effectiveness should be countered by Superman Dwight Howard who gets to teach the rook a thing or two in Mickey’s town on Tuesday night. If Howard and Griffin cancel each other out, then what does LAC have left? Nobody. I’ll give up the 9 ½ points.
San Antonio Spurs (42-8) at Detroit Pistons (19-32)
Where: The Palace of Auburn Hills, Auburn Hills, Michigan
When: 7:30 pm EST
NBA Odds: Detroit +6 ½
Analysis: It’s always tough to make an online NBA bet against the San Antonio Spurs, but the numbers bear out backing the Pistons in this matchup on Feb. 8th. San Antonio is 5 and 1 ATS in their last 6 games overall, but they are 2 and 5 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite of 5 to 10 ½ points. The Spurs are also 2 and 5 ATS in the last 7 meetings between these two teams. Detroit is 4 and 1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up victory and 7 and 3 against the spread in their last 10 games as the underdog. The under looks good as well with the under going 10 and 2 in the Spurs last 12 games following a straight up victory and 4 and 1 in the Pistons last 5 overall. Lots of choices for hoops handicappers in tonight’s San Antonio vs. Detroit matchup.
