NBA Sports Betting – Chicago Bulls, Celtics vs. Blake Clippers

February 27, 2011

Two of the best teams in the NBA, the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics, and the only team in the NBA that starts a single player against five (just joking, Clipper fan), the Los Angeles Sailboats, figure into most every NBA basketball betting handicappers’ plans on Saturday, February 26th.

The Chicago Bulls travel to Milwaukee and take on the Bucks in what could be a trap game while the Celtics take on Blake and the Clippers. In the other game on Saturday, the New Jersey Nets hit the hardwood against the Houston Rockets.

Feb. 26th– NBA Games

** Stats and records not counting Friday night games.

New Jersey Nets (17-40) at Houston Rockets (28-31)

Where: Toyota Center, Houston, Texas

When: 7:30 pm EST

Fair NBA Odds: New Jersey +2 ½

Analysis: Deron Williams knows Houston very well. That’s one of the reasons why I truly believe that the Nets will cover the spread, maybe even beat Houston straight up on the moneyline NBA odds, on Saturday. Houston unloaded both Shane Battier and Aaron Brooks this past Thursday. That can’t help their cause because Battier was a key piece of their frontline and Brooks helped to keep the pressure off of their best player, Kevin Martin. I see Williams having a field day for the Nets because he’ll be able to toss the ball to two skilled centers, Robin Lopez and Dan Gadzuric. Sure, Lopez and Gadzuric aren’t going to remind anybody of David Robinson and Tim Duncan, but, hey, the two should be plenty good enough to handle Houston’s frontline with D-dub running the show.

Chicago Bulls (39-17) at Milwaukee Bucks (22-35)

Where: Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

When: 8:30 pm EST

Fair NBA Odds: Chicago -4 ½

Analysis: The Chicago Bulls are, as my man Mike Rosenberg posted on Facebook, the second best team in the Eastern Conference. Maybe, the Bulls are the first. Nah…Boston’s still pretty good. I’m still concerned about how Chicago will play against Milwaukee on Saturday. Although I have to take the Bulls, because they are 5 and 1 ATS in their last 6 games, I’m not sure about it. Chicago did lose to Toronto straight up, 113 to 118, only a night before upsetting LeBron, D-Wade, the Bosh Man and Miami 93 to 89. The Bulls can stub their toes once in a while and Milwaukee has the 4th ranked D in the league allowing only 93.1 points off of 44.6% shooting. I still have to back Chicago because of the strong trends.

Boston Celtics (41-15) at Los Angeles Clippers (21-37)

Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California

When: 10:30 pm EST

Fair NBA Odds: Boston -4 ½

Analysis: I’m hoping that the Clippers shock the L.A. Lakers again on Friday night. If the Clippers could beat L.A. on the basketball odds moneyline on Friday night, then they’d probably go off as +4 ½ point dogs versus Boston on Saturday night. If they get beat down by the Lake Show, then the Clipps will be a +8 ½ point dog. Boston is a good team, but the Clippers aren’t bad at home. LAC could cover the spread in this contest. It just depends on what the odds against the spread end up being. If it’s Boston -4 ½ or less than I’m all over the Men in Green. If, though, LAC is a bigger fave than what I deem to be fair odds…well, I’ll cross that bridge on Saturday!
