NBA Sports Betting 76ers @ Mavericks
January 2, 2009
The Philadelphia 76ers (13-18 SU, 13-18 ATS, 12-17-2 O/U) snapped their four-game losing streak in the BetOnline Sportsbook on Wednesday, beating the Los Angeles Clippers 100-92 to the spread as I predicted in the BetOnline Locker Room that day as a 3.5-point road favorite while the combined score went OVER the posted O/U total of 188.
Shooting guard Andre Iguodala poured in 28 points while making 14 of 17 free throws while second-year forward Thaddeus Young added 20 points.
"I think we’re seeing progress on the defensive end," Iguodala said. "We’re trying to kill each other in practice and it’s starting to show."
"This was a must-win, especially from a morale standpoint going into Dallas," Iguodala said.
The Dallas Mavericks (19-12 SU, 14-17 ATS, 13-18 O/U) won their second straight game, beating the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves 107-100 after completing the largest comeback in franchise history.
Veteran point guard Jason Kidd had a fine game with 14 points, seven rebounds and 16 assists to lead the Mavericks while shooting guard Jason Terry dropped a game-high 29 points on the T-Wolves in the win. The Mavericks failed in a big way to cover the spread as a 13-point home favorite in the BetOnline Sportsbook while the 207combined points played OVER the posted O/U total of 196.

Dallas Mavericks -7½ -110
Over 195½ -110
Under 195½ -110
Analysis: While I am by no means impressed with the Dallas Mavericks, I say they get the win and cover in this matchup over the struggling Sixers as they have been very good at home recently, going 9-2 in their last 11 home contests after getting off to a horrific 0-4 start at home this season.
Take the Mavericks to cover and don’t look back NBA sports betting buffs.
