NBA Playoffs Prop Bets – Magic vs Celtics

May 29, 2010

Who’s ready to make some prop bets?

That’s right, with the Magic and Celtics ready to do battle in Friday night’s Game 6, there is plenty to wager on besides just who’ll win and lose.

Let’s take a look at some Game 6 NBA Prop Bets, wagers that could make you seeing green…and we’re not talking about the Celtics uniforms.

Dwight Howard- Over 32 ½ Points + Rebounds (-115) or Under 32 ½ Points + Rebounds (-115): After struggling at the start of this series, Dwight Howard has again regained his status as “Superman,” with back-to-back double-doubles, including a 32 point, 16 rebound performance in Game 4.

Truthfully, there’s no reason to expect Howard not to play just as well on Friday night. The man primarily responsible for guarding him- Kendrick Perkins- is one technical foul away from being suspended for a game of these playoffs, after getting kicked out Game 5, so we know he’ll be on a short leash, and afraid to commit hard fouls. Glen Davis will be less than 100 percent after suffering a concussion Wednesday night too. Which basically leaves Kevin Garnett and Rasheed Wallace- each over 30- to defend the 24-year-old Howard.

Expect a big game from the Orlando big man, and make this NBA Playoffs Bet on Props, an OVER.

Kevin Garnett- Over 15 Points (-115) or Under 15 Points (-115): Speaking of Garnett, after playing so well early in these playoffs (including at least 18 points in each of Boston’s games against Cleveland in Round 2), “The Big Ticket,” has cooled off of late, averaging just 10.4 points per game in this series.

At the age of 34, and having to deal with Howard down in the paint, this is the first time this postseason that Garnett has actually looked, well old. He played just 29 minutes in Game 5, and having to play every other day for four straight games seems to have taken a toll on him.

Because of it, it is hard to imagine Garnett toping 15 points in Game 6, especially when you consider he hasn’t done it once this series.

Sadly for Celtics fans, this NBA Playoffs Prop Bet should be an UNDER. Quite frankly, it might not even be close.

Rajon Rondo- Over 10 Assists (-120) or Under 10 Assists (-110): With all the talk in Game 5 surrounding the suspension of Perkins and injury to Davis, it was easy to overlook the fact that point guard Rajon Rondo had maybe his worst performance of the playoffs. Sure he finished with 19 points, but had just six assists, his lowest output of the playoffs.

While it’s hard to imagine Rondo playing any worse than he did Wednesday, it doesn’t seem all that likely that he’ll reach the 10 assist threshold either.

The Magic are playing off him defensively, allowing him to take jump shots, but limiting his ability to attack the rim, and dish out assists.

Rondo will have a nice Game 6, but will go UNDER 10 assists. Make this your final NBA Playoffs Prop bet of Friday night.
