NBA Playoffs Betting – Monday Picks

May 10, 2010

The Magic and the Lakers can close things up tonight if they win on the road. NBA betting fans should realize that both squads are thinking in the conference finals already and this could affect their game, for better or for worse.

Here are my Monday Night NBA Free Picks:

Orlando 59-23 (Road: 25-16) 8:00pm ET
Atlanta 53-29 (Home: 34-7) TV: TNT

It’s hard to even say this one is a series, so far it has been a hard butt-whipping/ basketball lesson by the Magic.

Like I told NBA enthusiasts, there is no one on that Hawks roster that can match Dwight Howard, which has been the difference between these two.

Also, Atlanta has been outcoached all series by Stan Van Gundy, and it seem to me like these guys have no heart or just want to go on vacation already.

I won’t expect a big effort by them in Game Four.

Orlando Magic -6
Atlanta Hawks +6
O/U 192

Simmons’ pick: Magic will cover.

LA Lakers 57-25 (Road: 23-18) 10:30pm ET

Utah 53-29 (Home: 32-9) TV: TNT

The Lakers want to close this deal as soon as possible, as they are already thinking of the Suns. However, Utah is a reflection of Jerry Sloan and they won’t give up that easily.

I think the Jazz will give a fair fight tonight and if you think about it, all the games have been really close until the end, so I wouldn’t expect any less tonight.

The thing about this is if the game is close with a minute remaining, there is a big factor in the game, and his name is Kobe “clutch” Bryant, because there is no better closer in the game.

LA Lakers +3
Utah Jazz -3
O/U 207

Simmons’ pick: Take the points and the Lakers.
