NBA Playoff Prop Betting – Boston Celtics vs. Orlando Magic Game 2

May 18, 2010

BetOnline Sportsbook returns with a full set of basketball betting analysis for the second game of the series between the Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics. Check out these NBA playoff prop betting wagers for Game 2!

Kevin Garnett Total Points + Rebounds
Over 23.5 Pts + Rebs -125
Under 23.5 Pts + Rebs -105

KG was absolutely stymied in Game 1 of this best-of-seven series with the Magic thanks to the defensive presence of C Dwight Howard in the paint. Unless someone like C Kendrick Perkins is going to step up in the post, asking Garnett to score more than perhaps 15 points is going to be a very, very tall task. Though he brought down 11 boards in Game 1 and looks like a potential difference maker in this series, Orlando is going to continue to force the hands of the outside shooters, which should leave KG ‘under’ in this prop.

My NBA Playoff Prediction: Kevin Garnett Under 23.5 Points + Rebounds -105

Rajon Rondo Total Points + Assists
Over 24 Pts + Assists -125
Under 24 Pts + Assists -105

Rondo had the series of his life against the Cavaliers, scoring over 20 points and dishing out over 11 assists per game. His series against the Magic didn’t start off nearly as well, as he only mustered eight points and an equal number of assists. However, we prefer to think that this is the game that Rondo can really do some damage. As mentioned before, the inside game won’t necessary be there for the C’s, and if that forces the game to the outside, Rondo is probably going to be forced into taking a lot more than the ten shots that he put up in Game 1. The Kentucky product averaged right at this number during the regular season (13.7 points, 9.8 assists per game), but with the national spotlight shining brightly, we think this can be a breakout game. Back Rondo to go crazy again for a 20+ point performance on Tuesday night!

My NBA Playoff Prediction: Rajon Rondo Over 24 Points + Assists -125

Dwight Howard Total Points
Over 18.5 -125
Under 18.5 -105

Let’s remember one thing before we go into discussing the big man on the inside for the Magic. Howard only averaged 18.3 points per game in the regular season. He has only topped this number three times in the entire playoffs, with all three games coming in the first three games of the Atlanta series. The Celtics have far more bodies to throw at the man they call "Superman" than the average team does, and it showed in Game 1 when he shot just 3/10 from the floor. We already know that Howard isn’t beating us at the foul line with this prop. In five games so far this year against the boys from Beantown, Howard scored nine, five, 19, 16, and 13 points. That just won’t cut it. Could Howard go off for 30 points and 20 boards tonight? Sure. Is he going to do it more often than not? Not likely.

My NBA Playoff Prediction: Dwight Howard Under 18.5 Points -105
