NBA Playoff Predictions – Celtics at Cavaliers – Game 2

May 2, 2010

The six-point underdog Boston Celtics visit LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight and are trying to avoid falling in a hole at Quicken Loans Arena at 8:00 PM ET in Game Two of the series.

The Celtics were ahead most of Game One, but then Mo Williams got caught unfired and brought the Cavs back to win the contest.  NBA betting fans should realize that Cleveland is a really hard match for Boston.

NBA Betting Odds:

  • Boston Celtics +6
  • Cleveland Cavaliers -6
  • O/U 192.5

Despite the regular season series was tied two a piece, the Celtics had trouble with anything Mike Brown and his team presented on the floor.

However, if there is a game that could be stolen by Boston, is definitely Game Two as the home-court teams that win the opener have only a 67.4 percent success rate in Game 2 after winning the opener because they often lower their guard.

Rajon Rondo will try to abuse Williams like he did in Game One, but they need a better contribution from Paul Pierce, especially in the fourth quarter.  I don’t expect Pierce to have back-to-back quiet games, mainly because he always steps up when the game matter the most.

On the other side, the Cavs need to give LeBron James a hand early in this game. Despite that Mo Williams raised up his game in the fourth quarter, Cleveland requires more from Jamison and Shaq, otherwise this series could mean trouble for them and we could soon be talking about an upset.

Basketball betting fans keep in mind that CLEVELAND is 10-1 ATS in the second round of the playoffs and 22-16 ATS when playing against a team with a winning record, but 1-3 ATS when leading in a playoff series this season.

CLEVELAND is 15-5 against the spread versus BOSTON over the last 3 seasons and 9-1 SU in games played at Cleveland.

Despite all those numbers, the Celtics seem to be regaining their second breath at this time of the year.  LeBron can’t win it all by himself.
