NBA Playoff Picks – Can Orlando Win Game Three in Boston?
May 23, 2010
The Orlando Magic were most NBA fans’ playoff pick before their series with Boston. But now, NBA betting fans have changed their tune and Orlando is the NBA playoff pick only by a handful of believers.
The Boston Celtics go into a key Game Three at home Saturday looking for a win to go up 3-0 in the series and NBA betting fans believe they have a great chance to do it.
Boston seemingly has the Magic beat at a variety of positions while guys like Vince Carter and Dwight Howard (in Game One) have shrunken from the spotlight.
Orlando Magic (8-2 playoff record) at Boston Celtics (10-3)
Saturday, 8:30 pm ET
NBA betting line: Celtics favored at -3 ½
The Celtics are 5-1 at home SU in the playoffs and they’ve won five straight playoff games, handing the Magic their only two losses during the 2010 NBA playoffs so far.
For the Celtics to continue that Magic they’ll have to shut down Dwight Howard who had a big game in Game Two.
Rashard Lewis has been far from the impact player he was in 2009, perhaps as a result of he and Vince Carter’s styles clashing.
Also, Boston has a lot of bodies to throw at him in Paul Pierce, Tony Allen, and more.
It seems more and more as the series goes on, the more the Celtics are figuring out how to play against the Magic and showing that they are a superior team.
The Magic came close on the scoreboard in games one and two and coach Stan Van Gundy says they’ll be ready for Game Three but most of the answers to the Magic’s problems have not revealed themselves yet to NBA betting fans.
The Magic are not a good NBA playoff pick until they show more as a team and right now they’re playing like individuals.
The Boston Celtics have to play well to cover the spread but it’s a good NBA betting pick to take the team that is more complete overall and playing at home.
NBA betting pick: Boston Celtics (-3 ½).
