NBA Playoff Parlay – Atlanta Hawks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

May 7, 2009

Game-day: 5/7/2009

Tip-off: 8:00 pm est.

There is only one game NBA playoff game scheduled tonight and that’s Atlanta vs. Cleveland. But that doesn’t mean that BetOnline online sportsbook fans can’t make the most out of both the Spread and the Total in the Hawks vs. Cavs game.

Sometimes the best 2 wager parlays come from the same game.

Let’s take a look at Atlanta vs. Cleveland tonight.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

Spread: Cavaliers -13

BetOnline Total: 177 ½

ATS Analysis: Cleveland has gone 5 and 0 straight-up and 5 and 0 against the spread since the 2009 NBA Playoffs started. They are absolutely fantastic right now but this is the biggest spread that they have had to face during the playoffs. What affect will that have on them? None. If Cleveland were to stub their toes, it would have been in Game One of this series not in Game Two. LeBron James, the league’s MVP, is averaging over 28 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. He’s unstoppable and so is Cleveland. The Cavs should cover the spread again.

Pick: Cleveland Cavaliers to cover -13

BetOnline Total Analysis: In the five games the Cavs have played in during the playoffs, the only game to go over the total was their first game versus the Detroit Pistons in round one. The under has occurred in four straight games for the Cavaliers. For Atlanta, the under has occurred in three straight games and 4 out of their last 5. Of course, the Cavs could score enough to get the over themselves it seems like on some nights, but I don’t believe that happens. If anything, the Cavs might not score as many points but should still win by close to 20. I’m thinking a 96 to 75 game. That would mean a total of 171.

Pick: Under the total of 177 ½
