NBA Playoff Betting Picks – Trail Blazers at Suns

April 26, 2010

With the “miracle” Brandon Roy on their roster, the Portland Trail Blazers look to steal another road win to be in front of the series as they visit the Phoenix Suns tonight at US Airways Center at 10:30 PM ET for Game 5.

NBA Betting Odds

Portland Trail Blazers +6
Phoenix Suns -6
O/U 202

This series should be over by now if you consider all the Blazers injuries, but instead this has become a “movie/ soap opera” kind of series where the underdog has risen up from the bottom by stealing a couple of games, not to mention their biggest star Brandon Roy, who got back into play after only 8 days rest from his surgery. You can’t invent this stuff, even if it appeared to come out of a movie script.

Anyways, we are tied at two games apiece and with Roy’s comeback, it seems to be a whole new series. However, NBA betting fans should know that despite his return, the series remains virtually the same.

I don’t expect a big contribution from Brandon Roy on the offensive side of the floor, and in Phoenix, the Suns will lead the show with baskets all over the place.

It’s hard to acknowledge this, but the difference-maker in this one is not the offense. It would all come down to how the Suns are committed to defend the basket; if they play defense, there are not many teams that can stop them.

Keep in mind that Portland is 0-8 ATS after a straight-up win as an underdog and 4-5 ATS and 9-7 ATS in the last three years as a road underdog of 3.5 to 6 points.

Phoenix, on the other hand, is 25-11 ATS in the second half of the season with a 7-2 ATS record as a home favorite of 3.5 to 6 points.

Consider also that 7 of 13 games in this series have gone UNDER THE TOTAL over the last 3 seasons.

My pick: Suns will cover. JOIN HERE!
