NBA Playoff Betting – Are Suns a Good Pick at Home?
May 24, 2010
No matter how well the Suns scored the ball and no matter how close they came in games one and two of their playoff series against the Lakers, they never seemed close to getting over the hump.
The Suns are the NBA betting underdog because they can’t play defense, but at home, sports betting fans know they have a chance.
That’s because it’s much easier outscore the opposing team and cover the NBA betting spread with the crowd behind you and with the tempo controlled easier. Many sports betting fans still like the Lakers in this one but it’s going to be more competitive than the first two games even if the scoreboard doesn’t say so in the end.
Los Angeles Lakers (10-2) at Phoenix Suns (8-4)
Sunday, 8:30 pm ET
NBA betting line: Suns favored at -2 ½
The Suns fans have been 100% behind their team for some time now as it is a group of fan favorites that plays together very well.
This will be a last stand type of game with everyone rallied behind the Suns.
That’s why Kobe Bryant is huge in this one. He will need to have a huge game to quiet the fans every time the Suns make a run.
The Lakers struggled in Oklahoma City in a similar environment to what’s expected on Sunday night for Game Three, however, and that could be a model for what’s about to go down on Sunday night.
Steve Nash can run circles around Derek Fisher once he gets going and set up his teammates, and Phoenix is not that far out of LA’s class: they only won three less regular season games.
NBA betting/sports betting fans have jumped off the Suns’ bandwagon but many will be back for Game Three. Sports betting fans will see an inspired performance from a team with its back against the wall and it should be enough to carry the Suns through.
NBA betting pick: Phoenix Suns (-2 ½).
