NBA Playoff Betting Action – Cavaliers at Celtics Game 6

May 13, 2010

In what could possibly be the last game with LeBron James as a Cavalier, the Boston Celtics will try to wrap up this series as they take on the Cleveland Cavs, tonight at 8:00 PM ET at TD Garden in Game Six.

NBA Betting Odds:

Cleveland Cavaliers +1
Boston Celtics -1
O/U 196.5

We all heard everything about the Lebron no-show in Game Five, but the question here is whether he will show up tonight. The answer is easy, he’d better.

I do think he will have a big game tonight, perhaps 30 to 40 points matched with +10 rebounds, meaning a double- double, but despite all that, they will lose and the season will be over for the Cavs.

NBA betting fans should realize that Lebron is not the problem, both his supporting cast and Mike Brown are.

Brown has made some unusual mistakes, making hard-slow rotations that have looked sometimes ridiculous; for example, giving that many minutes to Shaq and Ilgauskas, when everyone knows that you hurt the Celtics with fast athletic guys. It’s amazing how a coach can sink the ship.

The worst part is that I don’t think Mike Brown has realized how much he has screwed the Cavs in this series, so I don’t expect a change tonight.

On the other side, the Celtics will play their pick-your-poison game. When either the Cavs give too much attention to Rajon Rondo, leaving Pierce and Allen ready to kill, or cover those two and leave open the point guard. Either way, it’s another big-time playoff performance, and it’s a no win for Cleveland.

Keep in mind that the Cavs are 4-8 ATS after allowing 105 points or more and 4-6 ATS in all playoff games this season.

The Celtics are 7-3 ATS in all playoff games and 3-1 ATS when leading in a playoff series.

I bet Knicks fans will be paying as much attention to this game as the Celtics and Cavs fans.

Simmons’ pick: Bet the home team, Celtics will cover.
