NBA Parlay – Pacers Host Utah and Knicks Take to the Road
March 9, 2009
Utah Jazz -3.5 over INDINANA PACERS
If any team is going to stun some online betting hopefuls in the NBA playoffs, it’s the Utah Jazz. The representatives of Polygamy State have quietly gone 11-4 ATS and undefeated in their last five games, while rocking a tempting 4-1 ATS record. Still Pacers bettors are licking their chops at this matchup, simply because the sneaky Pacers have gone 9-3 ATS in their last 12 against the Jazz. The misleading part about that? The Pacers have played the Jazz just four times in the past four years.
Indiana has gone a steady 3-2 SU in their last 5 games, but that includes wins over the Kings and the Clippers. Hardly anything to get excited about. The Jazz pride themselves on defense, but the spread has dropped low because Utah’s road defense gives up +4.7 more points on the road. Does that make me scared of the Pacers? Hell no! We’re talking about an undersized team who’s best big man is Jeff Foster. Jeff Foster! I repeat – Jeff Foster!
The Jazz are going to be compiling a stiff record in the closing months of the NBA betting season as they try to sneak up on the Spurs and Lakers in the West. When you have one pitbull impersonating an NBA point man, like Derron Williams, you have to be careful. Take the Jazz in the UNDER, baby.
Oh, and by the way, Danny Granger isn’t playing and Jeff Foster has a sore back. Yeah…easy money from the oddsmakers if you ask me.
MILWUAKEE BUCKS -3.5 over New York Knicks
Not so sure what has happened to the spread busting Knicks, who have dropped to just 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games. But on the road, against a sneaky Bucks team, I’m wary of the Knicks. New York is winless in their last 5 attempts on the road and just 1-4 SU in their last 5 when playing Milwaukee.
While the Bucks certainly haven’t been comforting at 2-4 ATS in their last 6 at home, I’d say that D’Antoni’s bag of idiots screws this one up by underestimating a Bucks team that has more scoring than people think. The Bucks are coming off a huge 127-120 win over the Warriors, on the road, so scoring isn’t going to be a problem. It will be for the Knicks. So take the UNDER.
